I hope Dr. Minnis doesn't make the same mistake that Tommy Turnquesr did. They elected Turnquesr leader of the FNM and he got so busy campaigning to win the general election that he never campaigned to win Mt. Moriah and it caused him his seat and the General Election. Trust me. no seat is a safe seat for any party. You gat to go see the people and campaign in person. I heard Minnis bragging to the press that he's not been to Parliament or giving interviews because He's busy campaigning to get the PLP out. Ya gat to win your seat first though and the majority of seats to become Prime Minister.

Know a lady in Marathon who just got a job as a janitress from Jerome Fitzgerald. He came to her house campaigning and she complained that she needed a job as she hadn't been working for over two years. Two days later she was employed as a janitress at one of the schools. This after asking the old PLP MP for help for the past 4 1/2 years! And guess what? She doesn't even think the PLP deserves another term in office but now she feels obligated to vote for Fitzgerald he gave her "a job". It's ludicrous. But you know this is Politics 101. Keep um broke, uneducated, and ignorant. Exploitation at its finest and a guaranteed win!

This article grieves me because it's so poignant with truth. Unfortunately these poor people being kept down by the politicians who will sell their birthright for a bowl of porridge will never read this, much less understand it. Pity!

I agree. Outside of the pay, it's the kickbacks and under the table deals that they clamour for. Do you know what it is to have access to tax payers' funds with NO accountability? And we wonder why it's taking dynamite (a.k.a. a cutazz at the polls) to get Perry and his minions out?

They are not foolish. They know that Carnival is a sore point for Bahamians because of the very obvious waste of taxpayers dollars on an event that will probably never turn a profit. They also know that it will used in the opposition election rallies against them. How is it that you have hurting Bahamians and a lackluster economy but you can find time and money to have a party in streets?

The man in not stupid. Guarantee if they win, though, the budget will double.

This man has not ONCE shuffled his cabinet. Same cronies in the same positions mastering how to tief the vat money. And they want to go back to finish the job.
