The Haitians, in particular, having been feeding themselves a lie that they are Bahamians "at birth" This is so twisted. I don't know how "right to apply for citizenship" is interpreted as "automatic citizenship at birth" but whatever the interpretation they have been using it to "rape" our country for years by saturating our hospitals with their newborns. I just wish the Government would take this to the next level and amend the Constitution. Trust me. If they fix this, they would not need a bus or plane to get the illegals out.

I am constantly amazed at how people continue to post these kinds of comments.

Please forgive my ignorance and explain how someone can enter a country illegally and produce children and then expect not to be deported (with those children) if they are caught.. How do you equate wanting a better life with breaking a country's laws to do so? What am I missing here?

Why do people always try to justify wrong because in their minds their greater need to survive somehow makes that wrong action right?

So the fact that you were in a country illegally 'for years' and you have become accustomed to this new life now makes it "unchristian" for the country to deport you because you have children who do not know the country you left - albeit you entered the country you currently reside in illegally without knowing that country, its culture or its people? You did know, however, that you were breaking the law and that you risked deportation if caught.

Boy I've got to read my Bible again.

Child, Tal you can't tell these people nothing. They been feeding themselves lies for years. Lies about their right to citizenship at birth and lies about how we treat them. Unfortunately, this is what happens when you let such issues fester too long. People develop a sense of entitlement. They are now in a tailspin because we have been talking the talk for years and never got around to actually walking the walk. Remember a drowning man will clutch at a straw. But don't pay any attention to it. We need to just forge ahead and stick together as authentic citizens and get our country back.

This is a Cabinet decision. Fred just got his marching orders and is the front man on this. I applaud the Government's efforts and now that they are finally dealing I for one will not be pessimistic.

This is the most sensible thing the Government has done since election. I think we are finally getting somewhere. My only issue is with how long it took. They let it fester too long. Lots of illegals are entrenched in our country and do not want to go back home and are desperate enough to try anything. By the way, this is how they did it in the past. Leave the children with the hope that the country would retain them (especially if they are born here) to ensure that they still get what they came for - a better life - even if it's for their children. Sad.

And as usual - just like the NIB fiasco - nothing will be done about it. A bunch of hip hip hoorah until the next shocking headline. We as Bahamians are always reactionary. We react to whatever is in the news and then quiet down until the next headline. No wonder our officials remain corrupt. There never has been nor will there ever be any accountability.

I am going to switch careers and either become a politician or a pastor. It's a sure way to goosey people out of their money and the quickest way to become rich just by duping people. Only in the 242!

Here we go again! More bullsh** deadlines and fake enforcement of policies while the blood suckers continue to come by the boatload in the hundreds. Jesus, when are we going to learn????

I have concluded that our country is sold and in another 10 years, we will have what they all want... a Little Haiti!!
