The basis of this wonderful advice is that COVID is only spread in the night hours Mr. PM and not during the day when people are in stores, inside gas stations and other places of business? If you say the country is ready to open up to outsiders, why have any curfews at all at this point?

Why no antibody testing Mr. PM? How can we know how vulnerable we are to the inevitable second wave of COVID in Nassau and a first wave in most of the family islands? What measures does the gov't have in place to deal with COVID in San Salvador for instance? Do you guys think or do you just act and hope for the best?

The history of the Bahamas shows that those of the same race can be more oppressive,. abusive and exploitative than those of other races.

The term racism is a way to justify the hatred, ignorance, oppression and abuse of power that manifests when one race perpetuates certain acts against members of another race, but we don't use that term when the SAME acts occur within the same race! We make the wrongness about the RACE and not the ACTS. How can any problem be solved using this approach?

We need to focus on the wrongness of the acts and not the races who perpetuate them. Statements like those of Davis and others only serve to divide people alone race lines.

"Racism" cannot exist where people simply treat others with the same respect they want to be treated with as humans!! This is why looting and destroying the property of others can only deepen the divide between people not sole they "racial" issues that exist.

The Minister of Tourism recently said that 2/3 of the workforce is employed by tourism. If all hotels, etc are closed, that should mean at least 66% of the workforce is unemployed.

Mr. Foulkes is only one of many reasons why we need fixed term limits for aspiring career politicians!

... you may not have observed that Bahamians do not live by principles, in fact most do not know what the word means. As long as they have money in their pocket to spend and can pleasure themselves, most Bahamians are happy. As a people we do not think or plan strategically and as a result most are slaves in their own country, working on the plantation called resorts, with banks funding their illusions.

They want boaters to come in, but I still can't walk into a store with a mask to choose a bottle of wine?

How is it possible to know how vulnerable we are to a second wave of coronavirus if we have done zero antibody testing. At least Nassau could sustain a second wave better than the family islands because it has been here so long and some now have immunity. No one in Exuma, Eleuthera or other islands have been exposed at all making them more vulnerable!

Why rush to open up to have to close again?

... they need thermal imaging set up at airports and harbors to more easily identify incoming passengers who may have fevers, but above all we need antibody testing to determine just how protected our population is against a second wave of this virus. Our geni-ass PM says we don't need it though because we are a small country. They continue to inconvenience the 80% who have never develop symptoms and have immunity to find the 5% who may have symptoms. Really smart!

I do not expect a man who could not see the problems alphabetized shopping lists would cause to see the problems that will result from this decision.

My heart goes out to all family islanders for what will inevitably happen and I encourage you, please, save money for emergency medical flights to Nassau!

... people use racism as a means to cover up their ignorance, hatred and evil ways. How many black men have died under similar circumstances in the hands of black police here in this country? I never hear cries of racism then! Nor do I hear them with the high incidences of black on black crime in cities across the US.

It is a simple matter of people not respecting others, being ignorant, hateful and spiteful WHILE abusing power. Looting and destroying the property and business of innocent people can only deepen the divide or animosity cloaked in that thing called racism!

How can one call a small business non-essential when that business is essential for the owner to make a living?

All businesses that are conducted outdoors (fish vendors, car cleaning pool maintenance etc) should be allowed to reopen with social distancing, proper sanitation and masks. This virus is spread mostly by coughing, breathing and sneezing.
Even without a mask, when a person coughs or sneezes outdoors the wind automatically carries away the germs. That risk is even reduced further by wearing one
This significantly reduced the likelihood of getting infected, unlike if they are in an enclosed room with AC on where it cannot escape.

If there is still some concern then a schedule can be set up where different vendors would open up at specific times to ensure everybody can still make a living. The PM simply does not think about taking the stress off the small man by using common sense!

... the issue is not with the parties, but with those chosen to lead! Stalwart councilors don't make their decisions for party leaders by principles or merits, but by self interest. That will always give the electorate the short end of the stick. However, Minnis is clearly not the sharpest knife in the drawer!
