Any "flattening of the curve" has occurred because of exposure to the virus, not because their lock-down is working We have a fixed population, only so many people can get infected. Repeated exposure means an increase in cases, but it also means an increase in those who are exposed and do not develop symptoms and now have antibodies to the virus.
This country has to start antibody testing to get some idea of how many people may have already been exposed, were asymptomatic and are now over the infection so we can start to get those people back to work!!.
The PLP might be able to use its connections to purchase some rapid tests to help the government out. Only government is doing testing, so they could distribute them to private clinics or labs or set up strategic locations to have general testing for members of the public in order to get a better feel for what might actually be out there! That would be win win for all!
... it may be worthwhile to consider dehydrating certain products to prevent spoilage (onions, tomatoes, papaya etc) I recently brought a pack of sundried tomatoes for $7.99!
Its amazing how seldom we hear of sub-aquatic volcanoes contributing to the melting of Arctic ice sheets or contributing to the 'rise' in sea levels! https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/…
For others who may be interested in other views or additional information on the subject I recommend a book "Inconvenient Facts" by Gregory Wrightstone. Among other things he aptly notes that "... science is not consensus and consensus is not science".
... you take your perspectives very seriously and that is fine, but there are any number of respected scientists who disagree with the climate change hysteria and I have enough of a science background to critically analyze and formulate a conclusion of my own! Not everyone who disagrees with your perspectives is as ignorant as you seem to imply. We should be mature enough to agree to disagree!
The great irony here is that this was preventable to a great extent IF they had simply treated every patient as though they had the infection and taken the necessary precautions! Hospital visits should have been stopped from the very first COVID case was diagnosed in the country. How could you have potentially infected persons with no symptoms walking onto the hospital as visitors anyway? Sad and careless!
… medical statistics in this country are unreliable because of undertesting (which we are also seeing in this crisis as well) and underreporting. I would bet that public and private clinics in Nassau or GB or Acklins, San Salvador or Eleuthera do not test or report flu cases and any deaths would be classified as something else.
...ummm, the climate was changing, is changing and will continue to change (cyclically) as it has for eons. Man may pollute the earth and its atmosphere, but he cannot change the climate!
If the W.H.O had made a policy of containing emerging viral threats within a country's borders, thereby minimizing the potential for spread, the global impact of the same would diminish overnight. This should have been a first step from the SARS pandemic, but sadly it is a reflection of that organizations limp wristed inclinations to do what is politically and economically expedient for countries like China instead of doing what is best for the global economy!
Many beneficial points made here have nothing to do with 'climate change' and more to do with poor strategic planning by governments who fritter away borrowed funds on wants and never consider long term needs.
