I have two questions:

1) Why are people having children they cannot afford to feed?

2) Why does the working class always have to foot the bill when people fail to exercise personal responsibility?

Right thinking Bahamians should be concerned about an unconstitutional breach of our civil liberties.

Someone should advise Mr Davis that interferon is **not** an antiviral drug and cannot help to **eradicate** Covid 19! A simple Google search reveals that info!

When will we begin to consider the importance of personal choices and individual responsibility in addressing the issue of poverty?

… logic, like everything else has limitations, the main one being that it is only a valuable tool to arrive at conclusions if the initial premise is correct. Start with a false premise and you must, by default, have a false though logical conclusion!

"*Announcing that Governor General C A Smith issued a proclamation of emergency on Tuesday, Dr Minnis pledged to do all in his power to protect the Bahamian people from the threat.*"

When they had the power to actually do something they didn't (a sensible travel ban and closed borders), now all they can do is talk, curtail the movement of people and wait for the virus to burn itself out!

Too little too late and all while we have 2 doctors in government!

NO!

@DWW... please explain how the statements made were unethical or deceitful. Did you bother to read Dr Brennens statement I re-quoted from above??

Do you not realize that the person infected with the virus had to have gotten it from someone. So at a minimum there would have to be two cases here (since she did not travel recently). The only way there cannot be two cases is if those she was in contact with were not tested and simply asked to quarantine themselves. Learn to think!

joeblow says...

What should be disclosed is just how many tests have been done thus far. How many of the persons who were in contact with the infected person have been tested? If none, why not?

Are they not testing for fear the numbers would increase? If so that is unethical and dangerous!

joeblow says...

... there is one confirmed case in a person who did not travel recently. This can only mean that the government has not tested specific people this person had to have contact with. She could not have gotten the virus from herself. Within 48 hours of the first positive test there should have been at least one other case confirmed if they were doing their jobs properly. So at a minimum this country should have at least TWO confirmed cased NOT only one!!

@Porcupine… while we ride out the storm we can plan for the future. The reason this economy is so vulnerable is because of the lack of planning that has been taking place over the last 4 decades. We put all our eggs in two baskets. One has shriveled to the point of no return and the other is perched on the edge of a cliff.
Economies like China's survive because they think 100 years ahead, we are still stuck thinking about a job, feeling good and the next election!
