The reality is the Bahamas people remember fondly where there were strong families and communities, low crime, where people respected each other was a Bahamas that practiced the values of which the author speaks. Departure from those values have created the social and moral cesspool of a dumbed down society in which we now live!
To answer that question, just look at all that money government spent on investing in new hurricane shelter infrastructure, disaster management training for police and defence force officers, implementing a national swimming program, creating an effective evacuation plan for the islands, purchasing new or used helicopters and temporary shelters with water filtration systems etc. since the last hurricane!
... any story that only presents one side of an issue, without even making a serious effort to confirm the truth of the statements, is always suspect in my mind. That is what you expect from a post on social media, NOT a 'reputable' newspaper.
