If what he is saying is true, then Haitians will be the major beneficiaries of Dorian funds!

Every bad hurricane is the worst until the next one (remember Katrina). If we hadn't built so many homes in flood zones and had such shoddy construction and people evacuated, no where near the devastation that was experienced would have happened.

For all the science buffs and amateur climatologists out there, an honest question: after the first ice age how much did earth have to warm up for the ice to melt? Was it more than the 1.5 degrees we are not so concerned about now?

Fluxes in earths magnetic field and core are of far greater concern!

This thing that is causing mass hysteria is just a cycle!

Hutchinson has already screwed the govt with the Lucayan hotel sale, they will now use the airport and Container Port to get even more leverage against this weak and desperate govt.

On Freeport 'desperately needs' govt's $10m

Climate change is a part of a cycle that has been occurring for millennia, that is why we are not stuck in the first ice age! In fact, earth has had several major and minor ice ages with subsequent warming!!!
The mass hysteria of climate change is a hoax that is not supported by a number of reputable scientists!

... the law applies to any person born in the Bahamas to LEGAL residents. They have the right to apply for citizenship at the age of eighteen. Those born to residents here illegally have no constitutional right to apply, even though it has been given in the past (unconstitutionally). Immigration laws can easily be reviewed online.

Terrible idea. This will force displaced Abaconians and Grand Bahamians to compete with Haitians for limited jobs in Nassau. Chaos will ensue and the cultural divide will only be deepened. Provisions must be made ASAP to repatriate as many as possible to reduce competition for jobs, maintain law and order and reduce crime!

Why appoint a person who has no disaster management training or experience to head a disaster management organization? Isn't this the kind of incompetence that has us in the mess we are in right now?

No allow about 500 of the LEGAL residents from those communities to assist in removal of the debris to reduce the cost to taxpayers and to reduce the chance for cronyism through contracts!

Separate items that can be burned from those that can be recycled and create a temporary landfill for burning!

On Shanty town debris will be cleared

"Immigration Minister Elsworth Johnson said the suspension of repatriation exercises in Grand Bahama and Abaco was to to ensure that everyone, regardless of status, received social assistance and healthcare in keeping with international norms. Now, he said, **undocumented immigrants must ensure that they have at least applied for legal status in order to escape deportation.**"

How can an undocumented or illegal immigrant apply for LEGAL status Minister??? Ya'll need to stop talking out of both sides of your mouths!

Less talk-- more action please!

It is people like Fred Smith who contribute to the so called "discrimination" that exists by dishonestly using "loopholes" in the law to advance the agenda of repopulating the Bahamas with Haitians. Many of his arguments are asinine, but that does not stop him and his "human rights" campaign has resulted in the deaths of hundreds of Haitians in Dorian!

History has proven the greatest enemy of the Haitian people are Haitians themselves, NOT Bahamians!
