... anybody who has spent any time interviewing entry level workers knows that the majority are functionally illiterate. Can't read well, can't spell, can't think critically or problem solve. They can only serve in areas where they are told exactly what to do (put the peas here and the beans there"). Combine that with no work ethic or moral values and you have a major problem that he thinks I should pay for!

Wages would increase if there was a pool of people who had an actual (not paper) 12th grade education, were willing to work and could think critically and they didn't 'tief' your envelopes, pens, stationery and time!

... a more important point to be made is what is being done for people when they are diagnosed as covid positive? Are they just sent home without medications that can help until they worsen to a point of no return? We do not know!!

It is simply not enough to say that people get covid and die. More than 98% of people who are infected recover. Nobody ever talks about what they might have done that may have helped!

As of August 16th the CDC reports that almost 10,000 vaccinated people were hospitalized or died from covid. That does not factor in other countries noting the same trend.

Might our mortality rates reflect the inadequacy of care people are given? Has the government ever released how patients are managed and how that equates to what is being done around the world? We may never know, because investigative journalism in the Bahamas is dead!

... I read somewhere recently that 59% of those hospitalized in Israel were fully vaccinated! I trust this government to tell the truth about nothing! The science about covid and these "vaccines" is not settled, it is evolving. So no one should act as though they know it all! It is exhausting!

... I don't know why, but I continue to be surprised at how ignorant and gullible and almost child-like in their beliefs Bahamians are around election time. Our history with politicians has taught us (collectively) absolutely nothing! We deserve whatever we get because we refuse to think!!

joeblow says...

... another copycatting exercise since vaccination does not stop a person from contracting or spreading covid. It is also likely for a person to get covid AFTER they have done the test for admission! Antibody testing to assess for recent or past infection might be a better place to start! In addition, delta variant affects the lungs more than the upper airway so rapid antigen tests are likely to be negative even while the person is infected!

... the governments job is not to provide for people that which they would be able to provide for themselves if they were (relatively) educated and able to work. The problem is that they want to increase the populations dependency on the government instead of educating the population and creating opportunities for those who want to work to do so!. It is the same kind of thinking that has democratic run states like California deep in debt, high crime and low in personal responsibility!

joeblow says...

... with or without a vaccine, the only people who won't get infected are those who hold their breaths all day!

Secondly, the article could at least have mentioned the amount of bed Drs actually has and the amount dedicated to COVID patients!

Thirdly, Dr Diggiss said “…We continue to be overrun with the treatment of COVID patients, but we find space when we have to find space.”

If they can find space then they aren't overrun. The real question is are they keeping people admitted in order to milk the cow dry! If you ever stayed in Doctors you know what I mean!

joeblow says...

... but you can vote while vaccinated and covid positive! This may well be a super spreader event for the vaccinated!

joeblow says...

... you can campaign in groups or at nomination day if you are unknowingly covid positive, but you can't vote if you are? Makes no sense to me! Provisions can be made for voting to take place outdoors with the necessary safeguards in place.

It is also important to note the PCR test cannot tell if the virus is dead or alive. So a positive test does not mean a person is infectious It has been confirmed that a person can be over covid and asymptomatic but still have a positive PCR test because bits of dead virus are still present in the system!

...neither "Brave" Davis or Minnis are fit to run this country. Vote out all politicians who have held a political office for at least 10 years and let a new leader emerge depending on the party that wins! Its the only chance we have! We cannot continue to allow people to make a career out of politics. Let them go get a real job!
