... this editorial adds nothing to the national discussion regarding vaccines. Maybe the editor might consider having a reporter investigate why so many heath care workers (including doctors) are not taking the vaccine. Maybe they have seen side effects that are not being reported by the government or media. The "science" itself seems to conflict, so why vaccinate when so much confusion abounds while coercion not information is the impetus to get vaccinated?

There is as yet no know birth defects in women who may have been pregnant with covid and gave birth, the same is untrue for mumps, rubella etc. so birth defects makes vaccination a rational choice to prevent those infections!
After more than 1 year of the world dealing with this virus and the large amounts of information available about the virus and "vaccines", I am still astounded at the pervasive ignorance that still exists regarding the amount of "protection" the vaccine gives! The vaccinated can still get covid!!
Bahamians have never been know for their ability to think, they simply follow like sheep.
It is now clear that much of what has been said and done about COVID was about power and control. I agree vaccines should not be forced upon anyone for several simple reasons: 1)the 'science' surrounding who should be vaccinated cannot be trusted because science is not being used to decide who to vaccinate. Initially the vaccine was for "emergency use only" to vaccinate high risk groups the elderly, medical workers etc. But now they are talking about vaccinating the least vulnerable groups, children. This was about saving lives initially, now its about profits for drug companies! Some are even talking about annual covid vaccines!
2) Some scientists say that those who have been infected already may not need the vaccine, while other say you should be vaccinated to get better protection, but all scientists agree that the vaccines do not stop you from getting covid. If you can still get covid, it means you can still spread covid, you just have false assurance because you were vaccinated. So why no antibody testing BEFORE deciding if one should be vaccinated and why does the vaccinated group get to move around freely if they are still at risk of getting infected and spreading covid? Makes no sense
3) the global mortality rate for covid is now less than 2% in most countries, so why are we vaccinating so many for an infection with such a low mortality rate? It does not make sense.
4) Why should employees be "forced" to take a vaccine when patrons of a business do not have to? Since the vaccine does not stop one from getting covid can't patrons spread the virus to vaccinated employees?
These knee jerk reactions and efforts to exert control are vexing. Nobody in a low risk group should be forced to take a shot whose long term effects are still unknown!
... or John Kerry and Al Gore jetting around preaching the gospel of climate change while investing in oil and other such commodities. People are so gullible!
