This is what happens when you elect leaders who have not proven that they have decision making abilities. I don't expect them to get everything right, but I do expect them to tweak decisions based on outcomes and to continue that process until we get the best outcome, but this effort is failing on all fronts.
This nation has become an embarrassment and a laughing stock to the world! So sad!
... you just had to use teh 'H' word right Bob! Your views of biblical Christianity, the historical Jesus and the message He taught (both salvation and judgment) are medieval and grossly distorted! Remember, a society has to get its values of right and wrong from somewhere, I have found that if those values originate from an individuals personal views of right and wrong they will always embrace self promoting, pleasure seeking and destructive values! Hence the high rates of addiction, depression and mental illness in countries with liberal humanistic values.
Why do we allow a group of persons who are attracted to the same sex to change common sense institutions of marriage, family and biological sex which have existed from the dawn of time? Why do we tolerate them calling those who disagree with their views intolerant, bigots, homophobes or worse? Why do we allow choice to be called an immutable characteristic? One can always ask why!
@OMG... on you statement "If there was a god surely he could have controlled all the misery across the world, surely he could have prevented these viruses killing many of the people that worship him." you assume to know what Gods purpose is, and you confine it to stopping misery. The misery in the world is caused by man's choices or occurrences of nature. If bitten by a poisonous snake, you many die. If you fall off a cliff you may break limbs or die. God is not responsible for the end result of a natural occurrence. Men having children they do not take care of, people stealing from businesses, lying corrupt politicians and unfaithful spouses have nothing to do with God, but with people, the choices they make and the consequences of those choices!
We have to decide what kind of society we want. "Normal" can become a new low that we allow ourselves to become accustomed to. It is clear that men and women are different physically, psychologically and physiologically. These differences are complementary in child rearing in order to perpetuate civil society.
When the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was drafted there was no consideration of the right to families being extended to same sex couples, since that thought was anathema at the time. The LGBT community has hijacked "civil rights" to advance an ideology that is anti nuclear family and anti society all in their pursuit of "equality". They have changed the definition of marriage, family and gender.
People should never be judged on that over which they have no control and that which cannot change, like race, but sexual expression is a choice. This fallacious LGBT ideology is not rooted in the immutable characteristics of race or sex, but feelings and fluidity that oppose basic biology and common sense. It is sick, it is pervasive, it is destructive to young minds and it has to stop!
... the truth is nothing holds a people back more than the **self interest** of those in decision making positions. We can blame religion, but all wars, power grabs, political decisions, coups etc were and are fueled by one person or groups desire for more, everybody else gets trampled in the process!
@ ScubaSteve... why should there be a separation when the constitution explicitly states that one of its pillars is Christian values (not the values of a particular church)!
A better idea is for government ministers to vote no against extending the emergency orders to the end of November. Encourage Minnis to resign and let a new leader emerge other than Sands. If either Minnis or Sands wins, the country is guaranteed to lose. Power should never be given to those who crave it!
