I know doctors and nurses in the medical community who have shared that they feel that the government had thrown them under the bus during this COVID-19 pandemic. They cite the lack of PPE's, the struggles of getting tested and not being advised of contact tracing when they have been exposed to covid positive patients. One doctor told me of a group of nurses being turned away from the South Beach Clinic when they requested testing after being exposed to known covid-19 positive patients and were told to go back to work! Heads should roll but life goes on!

... altruism is a philosophical concept primarily for the insanely wealthy or the deluded. The Clement Maynard "all for me baby" model, rules supreme! It crosses political lines too!

You simply need to consider that the 157 were asymptomatic (which you alluded to) and therefore not cognizant that they were a source of spread and the theory vaporizes!

Throughout this entire debacle the PM has taken no responsibility for his poor decision making, including allowing inter island flights from infected islands to non-infected islands!!! That says a whole lot!

... if I am not mistaken, Taiwan did have very stringent lockdowns very early on, but were able to relax them. After SARS they developed a national plan to deal with the next pandemic. They snubbed early WHO guidelines and followed their own plan. The end results attest to their efficiency in addressing the problem. We plan for nothing and think talking is a substitute for a plan, that is why we are always caught by surprise. Hurricane season is an annual event, but we are always surprised when one is bearing down on us! We are a nation of apathetic fools who abhor meritocracy, detest accountability and love electing fools to lead us, yet we are always surprised at undesirable outcomes!

... touché! Just tryin' to keep hope alive!

@truetrueBahamian ... look, this is simple. Bahamians who travel to a hotspot can get infected and bring the infection back. Tourists who travel from a hotspot cannot bring the virus here when they travel. The data proves that. There is a selective virus destroyer on flights that works based on nationality or is it melanin?

The most striking thing about this entire experience is that no coherent plan for sustainable national development has been proposed yet! Remarkable!

... don't worry, things are trending down based on the data and input from medical professionals! Ignore the obvious infections and deaths. You can go to the beach and relax! Your supreme ruler has spoken!

... sadly, I had a 30 minute conversation with a connected FNM yesterday and they cited most of the things you said about the PM.
