WHERE and WHEN. Tell me where I can go at what time to join in the soup line and get a bowl of soup !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I assure you, there is none.
"Freedom" of Information Act ????????? Sorry, folks, but the slavery continues - just in disguise. Shut up, work, and pay your duties and fees - and every 5 years we'll let ya "mark ya x" to make ya feel good.
It might help matters if their website didn't say "Like the port itself, our website is now under construction and will continue to grow with new and updated information about many new..."
I just came from the site, and after learning about the Obama-Care website, it just make me wonder if there are no web developers available on the planet Earth. I am a programmer and systems analyst and simply find this hard to believe.
Noting that the Obama thing cost over 600 million dollars, I hereby make my offer to the Nassau Container Port to put together an amazing, functional, fantastic site they can be proud of for only 1% (one percent) of what the Obama site cost. In fact, I'll even give a 90% discount on that 1% figure, making the final cost a mere six hundred thousand. Here and ready to start anytime.
He can't replace the teachers (except with foreigners) because there is NO WAY for a Bahamian to become a teacher !!!!!!!!!
You have to be hired as a teacher trainee in order to become a teacher. There is NO WAY to obtain the schedule for teacher training courses at COB, and there is no way to attend these courses (which are held during working hours M-F) unless you are either rich or are being paid as a govt teacher with approved leave for training.
Even if you go away and get teaching certificate in Florida or Canada - it is not enough for you to be hired by the govt min of educ - you still have to take some courses at COB (again for which you can get NO INFO until you are hired).
It is a rigged system to ensure that only "people the union approves of" are ever hired as teachers because they know they will join the union and be "one of the family".
Parents more involved? LOL. Nobody has time for one thing. Secondly, most kids are not kids - just "sexual bi-products". Thirdly, schools are just "places for kids to be while their parents are at work" - that's why after-school programs are so popular and why the union withheld them the other day because they know it will hurt the "parents".
What he is saying sounds great - buy why didn't he do it the last time PLP was in power from 2002-2007? We had a D average back then too.
Of course he won't do it this time either because he will be out of power again by 2017. I must give him credit for a brilliant plan though that sounds great but that won't affect his tenure in office.
The IMF will tell us what's in the Bill when they're ready. It is needed to pay for all the free diapers and free baby deliveries at PMH and the clinics - along with duty free diapers and baby food.
In the meantime, everyone (especially illegal immigrants) can just continue "popping them out" and hope for the best. Hopefully their children will not grow up to be slaves to the IMF like many of our Caribbean brothers and sisters are with their devalued currencies.
Maybe another Junkanoo festival should be scheduled for early December???? That would take everyone's mind off this VAT thingumajiggum.
Police officers would be more positive in their roles, and we would attract a higher caliber of officers if the pay was more substantial. I've spoken to a few officers over the years and the numbers they told me are nothing short of a disgrace - it cannot even be called a wage - much less something that someone with respect and care for anything can be expected to receive.
I call upon the Christian Council (as a demonstration of their love for their fellow man) to order all their member churches (and encourage non-members) to immediately begin donating 10% of whatever they get "in the plate" to the RBPF each week to aid in paying overtime salaries to officers.
In fact (since the above will be difficult to do with our Constitutional restriction via the Consolidated Fund) - it would be better if officers could just come to the CC Office and present their pay slip and the CC will give them x-amount per hour extra for all their overtime hours. That would keep it simple.
Come on Christian Council !!! Why not help out with crime today ?
