I just did a search on their website (amnesty.org) and there is NO INFO on this issue on their site. The last entry was in June having to do with their support for the Bahamas ratifying several UN Treaties (probably the ones where we agree to implement a VAT tax and remove customs duties and allow people from all over the world to come in and take over. Yeah, they like that).

The article says they are disappointed that the Bahamas Govt has not made public the findings of several internal investigations - YET they do not use their own freakin website to say anything.

Amnesty Intnl has always been just like CNN. They grab a "hot" issue for a couple weeks and then let it die. No follow up. What about when after Hurricane Floyd the group "Doctors without Borders" was not allowed entry into the Bahamas to assist? That has been well and truly forgotten. No word from Amnesty. No word from the UN, and no word from that group. The least they could have done to help would be to change their name to "Doctors without Borders except the Bahamas". That might have gotten some Intnl attention.

Mr. Laing, we cannot choose our own taxation structure because YOU signed us on to so many international treaties and agreements while YOU were in power, that we are now lucky if we can crack out a conch without getting a permission slip from the U.N. Secretary General.

Those starving people need to consult with all the young gals who have had and continue to have "belly swell syndrome". They get free baby food to raise their babies. I don't know who pays for it or subsidizes it - but I know they don't cause they don't have any jobs.

Check them out - they might tell you the secret to free baby food. I know it's only baby food - but probably better and with more vitamins than left over KFC.

This is simply because no matter where they are found in the Bahamas (for example Ragged Island) - they are given FREE transportation to our capital city where they stay in detention center long enough for the public to forget about them (a month or so) - then they are given a shack, a car/truck, a food card from social services, and a business license, along with resident papers and a passport

Really, i'm surprised that a thousand don't come every week.
