So we provided another group of Haitians with free transportation to our capital city? Wow. I wish another country would provide me with such wonderful service. Can anyone spell Ottawa ?

We need detention center on one of the far south islands, and we need it built and operational yesterday.

Hopefully the contract includes travel expenses for the contractor to visit Marsh Harbour, Abaco to learn how NOT to do roadworks.

But, hey, of course it doesn't. Let them go head and make the same mistakes. It's just the peoples' money and certainly nobody cares about the money belonging to the good for nothing citizens. They're only needed for a couple hours once every five years to mark an "X" - after that, to h**l with them.

In Dundas Town (next to Marsh Harbour) in Abaco there is a new shopping plaza (huge) being built by Teacher & Salaried Workers Union. It is almost finished being built. There is a space for a fast food restaurant.

Can we get a Wendy's there please? There is no doubt that it will make tons of money.

Or are we going to let KFC open a 2nd location?

Wow - I have never seen so many people go so far off topic on this Tribune thing or anywhere else before in my life.

The point is simple.

Right now the PLP says they have 3 finalists in the works (one will be picked) to run the casino at Lucaya in Grand Bahama.

If all 3 of them tomorrow announce publicly that they withdraw their offers because now they know that no matter what agreement they finally sign and the government signs for them to manage and run the casino and bring employment and some prosperity to G.B. - a few months down the road the whole thing (or important parts of it) could be changed by the same government - or changed when a new govt is elected.

They would say they now realize that when the Bahamas government agrees in writing to something - it is a meaningless and valueless document that cannot be relied upon for anything.

In such an environment nobody can do business.

Hence they will take their casino management companies elsewhere.

If there is no such report in the Tribune by Friday (because the 3 companies do not say that) then they are even stupider than Baha Mar is for continuing operations and construction there this week while this question hangs in the air. Everything at the cable beach development should have come to a standstill this morning while they await on a new Heads of Agreement to be printed out and a new signing ceremony (public) to be held. Anything short of that is just silly.

The Magistrate did not want to order that the defense be given (from the police) a copy of the footage - because she said it was only an assumption that the footage existed?????????

Well, she could order that any footage the police have or will soon have be given to defense not later than Sept 30th (for example) so that they have time to examine it - and if no footage is received (with proof of receipt) by defense by that date then no footage will be allowed to be presented in court by the prosecution.

Simple. Prosecutors would be ordered therefore to put up or shut up. But I guess that's too much to ask for.

Too bad Baha Mar, we don't have any more money to give you - we spent it all subsidizing the import of duty free baby food and diapers and providing doctors and supplies in unlimited amounts at PMH for the delivery room (old folks need dey pressure pills? too bad for them too).

Well, it's good to see the Bahamas Government have to wait for a change. They surely make us wait enough, and go from office to office like we're playing piggy in the middle.

It is not hard to believe that the Bah Govt has been making people wait. I believe it is their only talent, really. It is good that they are getting a taste of their own medicine.

Yes. As head of that outfit, he is probably undergoing more scrutiny than usual. A rough place that prison is.

Someone told me the other day that when they were in maximum security there for 3 years a while back, on more than one occasion when they ordered the N.Y. Strip steak the kitchen didn't even have the bernaise sauce to go with it. Truly unbelievable.
