Actually he was portrayed as a hippie back in 2006 in an NBC TV series called "The Book of Daniel" - which after only airing eight episodes was promptly cancelled by the modern Pharisees in the USA who believe they know more about Jesus than Jesus himself.

http://tvseriesfinale.com/tv-show/the-b…

I watched all eight shows and found them to be very open-minded and very respectful of Jesus as someone who preached love and kindness toward everyone.

But, just like they did to the real Jesus, they decided to crucify the show. The problem they had with it, was it portrayed the family (a preacher's family) as having normal family problems just like everyone else. Of course from their high pulpits today, that is simply not acceptable. Preachers today don't even flush their toilets, because ... well, why would they?

If Jesus came to Earth today, he would very likely be branded a terrorist and sent to Guantanamo.

Anyway, I'm sure the show is available for download still by torrents or otherwise.

Historically, all such men who preach about being "kind, tolerant, and loving" are killed. Abraham Lincoln, John Kennedy, Martin Luther King, John Lennon, and even Jesus. All killed.

The were all killed by people like JohnDoes, who represent the ongoing existence of the Pharisees. Those who feel they have all undeniable and unquestionable knowledge about what is good and what is bad. They even told Jesus he was wrong. They watched him carefully to see if he would cure the sick man on the Sabbath. They tempted him to see if he would say that believers should not pay taxes to Caesar. Even today every Sunday they call Jesus a liar when they only offer apple cider to their flock to drink and tell them not to go to parties. Jesus attended the wedding party and turned water into what?

They will do anything and everything to prevent people from ever rising to the level of living among each other peacefully and accepting one another and thus becoming prosperous and live without wars and hunger and fear.

As long as they can keep everyone else down, they can stand on high pulpits and claim to lead the way to "higher ground" - which you of course never reach (by design).

There is in effect a metal shackle around the ankle of every Bahamian who follows their lead. The Abolition of Slavery was a waste of time for the Bahamas. The white man took the shackles off, and the black men rushed to fasten them back on - by themselves.

Just more proof that nothing can drag the Bahamas forward in time into the modern world and prosperity. We insist on staying "backward".

Not only that - but the above comment illustrates how many Bahamians just LOVE being backward. "We're backward and proud of it !!!", they say.

All these people crying about the reef; where are they when the children are crying from hunger? Where are they when the churches keep saying people cannot practice family planning - but must instead have even more children that they cannot afford to feed? (and Ramen Noodles doesn't count)

If people are going to "multiply" like the Bible says - then they need jobs to buy food. Sometimes a few reefs or a few trees or a few lakes or whatever get in the way. The whole world is being destroyed by Genesis 1:28.

Yes, to answer your question. Mr. Leslie Miller can see this. He tried to remove double-dipping - but was shot down in his efforts. The union said that robberies might take place as a result and so Mr. Miller in an effort to reduce potential crime, caved in to their demands. I do not blame him for that.

The legal issue is also paramount. I see lots of people putting solar panels on their roofs and even wind generators. I have always heard growing up (for over 40 years) that anything which supplies "continuous" power to your home other than BEC supply is illegal. In other words, you can start up your generator for a few hours when power goes out or there is a hurricane or any other unusual situation - but you cannot have a normal daily supply of electricity from anything other than BEC.

So far, nobody in authority has come forward and stated otherwise.

But, like the numbers houses, people just keep breaking the Law putting up solar panels and nothing is done. They are not arrested, nor does the Parliament change the Law.

I always say, as Bahamians (by majority), we just LOVE being backward.

Baby food and diapers are also specifically mentioned in the proposed Act as VAT-Free - along with all the bread-basket items and others added.

VAT needs to be applied across the board to include all grocery items, period.

Otherwise the people who are consuming government services like insatiable leeches - will continue to NOT have to pay a dime toward funding these services.

john33xyz says...

It is time to pay the piper. We will get VAT or we will get a devalued currency - whichever one we choose.

Like you say, MAYBE then people will wake up.

But then again - it may just make them feel more "independent" and "proud" come July 10th - nine days after VAT.

They can say, "man, we got raped even worse than last time - but that's ok - It's still Better in the Bahamas!!!!! We're ignorant and proud of it."

You have got to be kidding. If you want a lower dollar - MOVE to Jamaica. You will be happy there.

Sure selling local products abroad will become easier because you are selling for less - silly!!!!!! You can do the same thing now. Just lower your selling price by 30% or whatever. The same result.

You think if you sell $100 worth of good for 100 NBD (New-Bahamian Dollars) [which will be worth 75cents] - that you will get $100 dollars easier?

Yes, you will get B$100 - but when you go to buy something brought from USA (and maybe you haven't read any labels on anything but 99.5% of everything comes from abroad esp the US) - you will ONLY be able to buy $75 worth of those items.

AGAIN, if you want a devalued currency - MOVE to a devalued currency country - don't screw up this country.

What a silly comment from Mr. "Hey". So you mean if there are a bunch of guys sitting on the wall at Montague and 10 are like black fellas and 10 are towel-heads - the Immigration officers should just choose at RANDOM who to ask for ID? That's funny (and stupid).

Until the people have a referendum to legalize the numbers houses so they can be regulated and taxed - AND also a referendum (same ballot) to legalize marijuana - the criminals will continue to have money and rule the streets.

It's the peoples' choice. In the last referendum they voted to give money to the criminals. So this is what you get.

incognito - If we don't have VAT or some other way to pay the money we have borrowed from the IMF to pay for Diapers and Baby Food - then our currency will be devalued before end of 2014.

Can you imagine what life will be like when our dollar is only worth 75 cents? A $100 item in Miami will cost you $133. That's a 33% VAT in effect. So the choice is ours. If the people riot and stop the VAT, then they will get the alternative - that is a lower valued dollar.

There is no choice. The church needs to stop teaching people that "Be fruitful and multiply" means to make plenty babies. Instead they should say it means "Start a Bahamian farm and produce fruits and vegetables - while at the same time be sure your children learn their time-tables so they can multiply in math."
