Although the taxes in in communities in some areas of the US. are high, there are amenities which come with those taxes that the Bahamas cannot provide. For example the taxes in Scarsdale NY. are 2% but the average salary is $249,000.00 and that does not cover the retirees who are living on very generous investments. The amenities are substantial. Beautiful parks, pools, roads, railroads, beautiful airport, fantastic schools, etc. Taxes are fine as long as there is a return. Views are wonderful but they only go so far. There has to be a plan to upgrade infrastructure, raise standard of living for everyone on the Islands and provide a safer environment.
@Chucky!! Funny you went from "they" to "dey". You went from speaking english very well to speaking as if you had not learned the language past grammar school This is usually reserved for trolls from another country who are online to start trouble. As a matter of fact i am sure of it!
I think the graduate oversimplifies the reasoning . Up until FDR it was an unwritten rule, started by George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, that a president only serve 2 terms. The reasoning based on the fear of a Monarchy consolidating power and then making it impossible to depose them. FDR, because of the Great Depression and then WW11, came to the conclusion that a change in leadership at the time would be detrimental to the country and ran 4 times, (his cousin Theodore Roosevelt considered doing this previously but did not). The American public and Congress came to the conclusion that 8 years should be long enough and the 22nd amendment was born. If you cannot done in 8 years give someone else a turn.
aegeon, Please do not reference Pizzagate. Do your homework, that was proved, without a shadow of a doubt, to be a lie. Benghazi. Do you want to have a factual discussion on that? I will gladly. GUNS? Are you blaming democrats for guns?? They have wanted strict gun control for ever! I will give you Bill and emails but on the emails there is not one speck of evidence that it was done on purpose. Careless? Without a doubt.
You also must have a very clean beach close by with clean, easy and safe walk to the beach. No empty shops and closed building to walk by.. Clean, clean, clean! Spotless. Look on Youtube for travels down Front St. in Martinique. Also compare this. http://portshoppingspree.com/port-of-ca…
Not a citizen so I have no dog in this fight but if Trinidad and Tobago have excess capacity in their refineries now, why would an oil refinery be a good investment?
Just to clear up any confusion, Dr. Niece was not deported. He is in Immigration detention and can file for a "cancellation of removal" which I believe has already been filed. He is still in the US.
My wife and I visit your country quite a bit, once or twice a year. We have visited the Fish Fry multiple times and have even made Bahamian friends there. I think this is overblown and will fade away very quickly. If we have not had any problems, nor seen any, in the several years we have visited I find this warning ridiculous.
