I just passed through Bahamian tsa and U S preclearance. The Bahamian TSA was a 30 min longer wait than U S preclearance. Only two lanes open and many, many travellers. Someone must address this situation or tourists will travel somewhere else! It is terrible… and conveyor belts for luggage still inoperable on outbound.
Nice article I guess... I would like to recognize wonderful Sylvia Munro whose Nursery School so many of us attended. What a lovely lady. She will be remembered fondly by those of us “ little folks” who knew her. God bless.
What is insecure about waterfront properties to the East of the Main Wharf Mr Maura?
YOU have made it more dangerous for mega yachts to manoever into spaces East of the Wharf.
I see this as greedy actually. You concentrate on your cruise ships. Honestly, the mega wealthy really don’t want to be surrounded with the masses of middle and lowet income people you will be catering to.
I’m surprised that the Minister of Tourism is not working to straighten Mr Maura out.
Thank you for taking the time to write your letter. It is a very sad situation for those of us who love the Bahamas, its people and its beauty. i suspect that the Minister of Tourism’s hands were tied by the PM and the Doctor woman who received a Knighthood for her advice to the leadership... The damage is done, although the worst is yet to come for Bahamians I fear. Costa Rica is another good alternative to the Bahamas.
Government does not care. They just chase their tales around and around, shuffle a few papers each day, and the cruisers and yachts sail off to other organized and well run countries elsewhere in the Caribbean. And our people are desperate for work. How sad it is.

I just flew over a dozen cruise ships anchored off Great Harbour Cay today. So they don’t have far to go!

I hate to be so cynical, but it sounds like election time rhetoric. It is all talk and never any action. Very, very sad.
