These ships that will make the Bahamas their home base are Bahamas registered ships already The list of Bahamas-registered cruise ships includes some of the largest passenger ships in the world from the fleets of rccl, ncl, and Carnival. "Flag State" is the ship's registration country under whose laws it is registered/licensed. Just like any marine vessel, a passenger ship operates under its flag state laws (also used if the ship is involved in an admiralty case). Flag states have the authority and responsibility for a ship, exercising control over the ships. They inspect the ships regularly, certify equipment and crew, issue safety and pollution-related documents, etc. If a passenger dies on the ship, if any accident with the ship, the Bahamian authority will have to do the investigation.
Mr. Pinder as an economist should know that the international agencies are pushing for income tax because a lot of International Business Companies (IBC) are here. In 1989, the government of the day allowed for the enhancement of the International Business Company [ IBC ] Act, 1989, guaranteeing them exemption from paying all income taxes, local taxes or corporate taxes. Presently, and Mr. Pinder should know, is that the government can't introduce corporate or income taxes for fear of being sued by the IBC's.. Bahamian IBC's are exempted from small business license fees and do not require a license under the Business License Act. Shareholders are exempted from all income taxes, capital gains taxes and corporate taxes. This being said, it still comes down to the small man and the middle class to pay these taxes because the rich folks are all involved with the IBC's. All of the high paying jobs are held by these people who will be exempted from paying income taxes.
You all need to understand that emergency power orders are only in place to perform urgent decision making in case there is a need for one. This is different from a full lockdown. I agree with it due to the activities recently of out citizens in Bimini and the palmdale area. That will be the sole reasons I don't have an issue with it. When we stop acting like Trump and his supporters and start abiding by the measures put in place, then thee will be no need for the curfews etc. Bimini was a prime example with the beach party. None of the partygoers were wearing masks on that saturday night and then a similar one was planned for Sunday night, In addition, the club in the palmdale area. That place could not hold another person. These are the prime examples of why there is a need for the extension of the Emergency Powers Order. Again last night, police had to close down another club for the same reason.
I don't know why this women don't stop lighting fires. My kids are having a great time at virtual school. I have monitored their past two and a half days and it was nothing but superb. She's complaining about the teachers not knowing the curriculum etc, but from what I can see, they have a full teaching plan in their hands unless the Government school my kids attend has teachers who are not a part of her union. I agree that the system had crash on Tuesday, but he kids have not lost a minute of their instructions. Let's get above talking to make noise and talk to make sense. If life give you a lemon, darn make lemonade and that is what the fine teachers from my kids primary school did and I congratulate and appreciate them. Let's move on and stop complaining about everything. Life gives you some ups and downs, lets use them to move forward and not go back. If everything in life ran smoothly, then where would we be. These union leaders need to stop playing with their members emotions just to get re-elected.
bahamas Nurses Union president Amancha Williams wants a worker’s compensation system established to ensure the best medical care and treatment for nurses in the event of COVID-19 infection.
the BNU president appealed for nurses to receive ***private treatment and hospitalisation*** when the virus is contracted along with low cost or free hotel rooms for safety in isolation.
So the public treatment and hospitalisation is not good enough for the medical staff, but all others must go there. What a JOKE. Wonder why the BRAVE one went elsewhere.
