***She added that former Prime Minister and area MP Perry Christie did more for their community than Mr Chipman has.***

If Perry did more than he did, well he ain do nothing at all, because Perry didn't do anything either.

Last week, Mr Chipman said the government’s handling of Hurricane Dorian as well as institutional and partisan politics pushed him to quit the governing party.

#“Absolutely, it was a big thing for me,” Mr Chipman said during a press conference at his constituency office, when he was asked if the Minnis administration’s actions in the aftermath of Dorian had anything to do with the move.

#“When Bahamian lives are lost and the way you would have seen lives on the street, definitely there is some accountability that needs to take place from the government.”

This is the dumbest and most lousiest excuse I ever hear for the decision he made. He needed to come better than that.

Man. Sit your tired self down. Country going through a national disaster right now and you talking Sugar Honey Iced Tea. Just goes to show what y'all motives are. Rather than you trying to assist and comfort/console those folks that are going through physical and emotional trauma, you hear talking foolishness. I cry shame on you. You are so inconsiderate. The people will remember you all in the next few years.

**We would also hope that they would acknowledge the sense in some of the points being put forward by the PHA – such as the need for the swipe system to be implemented to be able to monitor hours rather than just trust to people’s word. Equally, the PHA should do all it can to ensure that system is implemented across the board, in clinics as well as the hospital.**

I totally agree wit this sentiment. Why is it that he doctors don't want to use a system that has been in place that can keep a perfect record of your in and out times. There will be no need for you having to depend on writing it on paper and submitting it. Print a daily report from the punch in system and it will verify your actual time that is being submitted. The doctors seem to go to the point of striking rather that swiping in. If they can give a legitimate reason why they don't, I will support them, until then, they do not have my support. From 2010, you are still trying to sort out overtime time from time written on paper, I would assume. I get pay based on my swipe times and there was not one time I had a discrepancy with the times on the print out. Are there a rat somewhere in this nit wanting to swipe. Curious minds would like to know. Can a Doctor please answer me on why they don't want to swipe in and out.

This is the most frank article I have read in a very long time. We want first class services but don't want to contribute to ensure that it happens. Governments can only work with what they receive. They have bills just like any other household. Only certain sections of government is a revenue generating department. Those revenue generating departments like customs, inland revenue etc. need us as taxpayers to be honest with our filings and pay what is due. In addition, the public servants need to ensure that what is due is being collected. PMH can't run on I owe you and be expected to have all the medicine, ambulances beds, staff salaries etc in place. If you keep drawing from a well that do not have a spring, then eventually it will run dry. It is the same with running and drawing from the public purse. Social services is a non revenue generating agency, but each day have to ensure that our people are not in a state of hunger, naked etc. If we pay what is due of us, then we can accomplish what we want for this country. Lets pay our real property taxes, customs duties, hospital bills, water bills, electricity bills and all other bills that we are obligated to pay and see what we as a country can accomplish. If governments will spend wisely and stop greasing their friends etc pockets, then we will have no need for any taxes added on us. This has to be a concerted effort on both the citizens and the government. So let us as Bahamians own up and contribute to the forward movement of this country towards first world status and a country we can all be proud of. Put petty politics aside and lets work towards one common gold, making the Bahamas the best little country in the world.

***“As there were no means of identifying each junior doctor or the specific number of hours worked each holiday due to junior doctors not utilising the labour management (swipe) system, the PHA recommended.***

If there is a swipe system for them to clock their time, why are the doctors not using it. Is it because they come in at 8am and leave at 8:15 am and then submit a full 8 hours or more as overtime. Use the system and then there will be no need for the conflict on how many hours they worked.

So what will happen to the crooked Bahamian officials involved in this most unfortunate breach of loyalty to our Bahamaland. Selling the country for a pot of porridge. This was going on for years ever since the passport scan. A full investigation need to be had here because the Haitian investigation must have named the Bahamian counterparts. Root out the corruption. All those who benefitted from this need to be prosecuted and their documents destroyed. They need to be deported with haste.

Brent and his family does even better under the PLP. Ask perry and brave. No conflicts of interest when the PLP is government for brent and crew.

I wonder if brave fully understand the shotspotter technology. That technology cant prevent shootings, but gives the police a more accurate location of where the shooting happened. This is nothing but political propoganda. For those who understand the technoogy brave is talking foolishness. For those who dont, this is gospel to them.
