Of course this is a lottery!!! No matter how you spin the wheel, it is still gambling.
The People voted No yet the same few profit. Democracy died. Where is the money coming From and Going To, where do the numbers shops Bank their profits? This can so easily be a money laundering place for terrorist activity, we do not know because there is no still no accountability? This destabilizes our legitimate banks, closing banks people lose jobs and it increases fees for all...And the nation suffers! It is treasonous. It morally corrupts the people and bankrupts the already poor and most hopeless of families. This is a scam for a few parasites to profit on the weak. A property National Lottery should have been established where the whole Nation could have really benefited. Bahamians still can't gamble in Casinos. and still No Licenses and no regulations= Corruption and illegal activities = more crime for us all. Numbers bosses should have been prosecuted years ago for illegally running numbers houses, they would already be languishing in jail in any other country.
The big question is Who is paying off Who? #FollowTheMoney
What is he on about?! Sadly the only Contempt here is from the Minister?!
The House of Assembly protects Fred Mitchell's rights, (and that is wrong) The minister can say whatever he wants (About whoever he wants) with no fear of any repercussions and that is fundamentally wrong, particularly when you threaten, denounce and slander someone.
That's why it takes someone like Fred Smith to stand up to this injustice he is doing it for all of us!!
The people of the Bahamas must be able to speak freely, and if the government don't like what they hear they should just do what is right for the people do better, and we will happily support you!
A lot of the people hiding their money are using a proxy, they have it registered under a family member, friend or law firms secretary's name. So much of this is still to come out, I just hope the Bahamas banking industry can ride the storm.
This also shows the importance of why people in public office must disclose their assets.
With 11 million documents to trudge through and the Bahamas listed as the third most popular tax haven used by this law firm, we will definitely see a pandora's box opening, this is going to be 'interesting'.
Oh he didn't just go after the Press?! What an idiot, that's a panicked knee jerk if ever there was! He really shouldn't go there, proves he is getting bad advice and ego is out of control but we already know that!
This is just a classic delay tactic, this is what you do when someone has got your *dangly bits in a vice (*you're already in court) A waste the court's (& the country's) resources.
The courts should throw this out, on the base that there's already a case before them with much of the same stuff and most of what he's alleging will be dealt with in that preceding case.
Maybe it will be this 'structurally secretive' Chinese insurance company Anbang who buys Baha Mar? They won't want to talk to anyone that's for sure! Plus they're desperate to hedge against the devaluation of the renminbi. (As are many Chinese companies!)
