Actions speak louder than words, Bahamians also have a responsibility to protect the earth we share and the environment we are blessed to calm home. We must say a categorical NO to Oil drilling, No to Cruise Industry harm, implement better more sustainable fishing practices, embrace Solar and other alternative energy & no more bunker c fuel, zero taxes for electric vehicles, Less vehicles for government workers, better public transport system, build hurricane resistant homes, stop wasting so many resources, the list is long.. Do Better Bahamas. And stop begging others to do it for you!
Bahamians have been warned, we've already felt the affects of climate change in Abaco with Dorian, God forbid that another CAT-5 comes and sits on New Providence. Yet Bahamians refuse to change their habits, we continue to show an alarming lack of respect to the environment we Claim to be so prod of. It is now an inevitable Fact that we Bahamians will become climate refugees forced to flee to the high grounds of Haiti (Because the USA will engineer it that way.) By the time we start to take global warming seriously, it will be too late.
We reap what we sow, and we deserve to suffer Natures Wrath.
OMG @tribanon, what in the hell are you talking about!? This is a robbery of a charity and you are blaming the WOMEN of Bahamian society! Are you insane? The Women are the Glue that is holding this country together, working, educating and feeding children, while the 'men' drink and throw litter out their car windows, they breed fighting dogs then throw them out too, they have kids and abandon them, they rob and steal from their bosses and each other.... get a grip!
Well said & I agree, they are also part of the problem. Disgusting humans committed the crime and more disgusting are the heartless comments! For Gods sake its a charity, i expect those that criticize haven't given a Penny to the BHS in their life, and they too probably mistreat their animals.
Is there a Bahamas Gov website with a quick list of instructions on what to do if you test positive for covid, and a mobile unit that goes around with medical supplies that can help those at home.
Governments in the region could stop the refugees where they started and Help them get on their feet in Haiti. They need- Jobs- Create employment & encourage over sea investors. Education- Help build the facilities & staff them with foreign teachers. Infrastructure- Put bids out to invest in roads, hospitals, power stations. You could fix a lot in 10 years. This would all probably cost the same, or less than the US Government is spending on Border 'Control' now.
