I think public opinion has already been decided on him.

Ikorki lists all the benefits that he is attributing to RW and Genting. What about the bad stuff? The lack of power and water because the development sucks it all up? The traffic? The huge trash issue? The massive increase in abandoned cars in the past 12 months? Not even to mention the obvious issue of massive and irresponsible environmental destruction.

Genting is only indirectly responsible for most of those benefits he or she lists. Genting is directly responsible for all of those problems listed here.

They may have a good track record elsewhere, but they've made a mess out of Bimini Bay. The property is haphazard, dirty, and parts are literally falling apart (especially on the ocean side, and the older stuff that never sold). The business plan has changed 100s of times since the original project started decades ago, and the place feels like a mixed up mess of half baked ideas. And it has been, and continues to be poorly managed. The service is terrible. There is no good overall plan there, economically speaking. Its throwing crap ideas at a wall and hoping something, praying that anything, will stick.

So yes, it probably will fail.

By the way, I'm Bahamian, have a hospitality degree, have worked in resorts and restaurants, and have been to Bimini.

I second BayStreet23: The annual disclosure law needs to be strictly enforced. Noncompliance means that the MP loses his/her seat.

But also all taxes, duties, fines and utilities should be paid up to date and publicly disclosed, and those who do not comply or are behind should lose their seat immediately.

I'm also curios as to what the law is when it comes to MPs holding other jobs while in office. Are they allowed to? Because they all certainly do.

And grade 'G'?? Shows you how much we value education...thanks PM.

kairosmatt says...

"in the context of grades, I am giving a performance in the context of what I know we have achieved and invariably people are not aware to the extent of which I can now speak." Meaningless drivel. But typical. No wonder we're screwed.

Okay PM got it: when FNM is in power the crime it totally the government's fault and responsibility.
When the PLP are in power crime is everyone else's responsibility.

Marijuana is far less detrimental to the Bahamas and family life than, say, alcohol or the Christian Council.
