Step into the light, is that a line off Poltergeist? The Bahamas has the opportunity to diversify it's revenue stream and have a better future. The majority of Caribbean neighbours are doing the same thing in a responsible and safe manner. It would be madness to let the possible opportunity pass.
if the Bahamian government want to attract foreign investment they must stick to contracts. they have to be competitive and trustworthy, getting a company to invest billions of dollars will not happen unless the company sees a profit. that's simple business not politics,,,,
Great article, strange that oil/gas exploration and the potential game changing revenue does not get a mention. Managed correctly the stability of oil revenue can give the country a solid foundation for generations to come, if BPC find anything!
So Mr Potter is sanguine about the "delay", I bet he is! He has paid about 7p each for 2000000 shares that are now worth 2p each!!! Sanguine means optimistic or positive in a difficult situation, yes join the gang. The majority of international investors who stumped up 50 million dollars for surveys are truly sanguineous,,,,
I don't suppose the government has considered royalties from any successful oil/gas exploration? or do they intend to rely on the country paying 20% vat!
Actually, spending $50 mill on seismic surveys is not investing in oil production and the "big" companies know there's no oil in the Bahamas! yeh, ill just watch the movie,,,,, harry potter and the pathetic politicians...
What a farce this country is. Will any big company ever invest in the Bahamas when the politics are unreliable and the Church is so greedy? Some of the populace are squabbling over the "oil" when no one but BPC are interested in funding the costs, come on Bahamas, if you want the oil revenue Show me the money! Or is it a case of "All mouth and no trousers"
Christie ought to bet on with Oil and Gas exploration! The royalties gained from a decent find would clear the deficit and provide security for the country. Bahamas Petroleum Company should be encouraged to get moving and drill for oil.
