The sad thing is that medical care isn't even superior to those who can afford it. On average it is inferior to the top systems in Europe. Anyone who had treatment both in the US and Europe will be able to attest to this. The reason why this comes up every time, is because the US attracts top talent by it's sheer size and wealth. Yes, you are going to get world class treatment, but only in specialized fields.

Not sure why it has to be about whether he is a local or foreign investor. If that's a factor, whether Mr Rodney is right or wrong, it means that different standards apply.

Price controls are obviously not a good idea... but so isn't a protectionist retail market like we have in the Bahamas. Super Value, Solomon's and others have obviously no clue how to run stock and inventory. In a competitive environment they would be put into bankruptcy tomorrow.

Yes, please keep making this about politics with your daily unintelligible rambling. It's what the Bahamas needs right now. You should be ashamed and not only about your limited grasp of the English language.

First you need reliable conventional power. Nothing is going to the replace this in the short or medium term. For solar you need storage, which with batteries (only viable option in the Bahamas) is extremely expensive. Demand at night is usually higher, particularly in the summer months.

Giving the company away would probably be the best you could do. Imagine a somewhat competent operator being able to charge on average 40c per kWh and all they need to do is keep the lights on. The average price in the US is 12c!

Sabotaging the power supply as promised in March... can't have no stinkin' foreigners fix the problem!

Looks like the union came through on their promise that they would start to sabotage the supply if these new engines got installed.

This is the guy who is responsible for the power outages. From March 2019:

“It will be a cold day in hell, before I, Paul Maynard, allow Wärtsilä to come on a plant that the Bahamian people is paying $95m for and send my staff home,” the union chief told The Tribune yesterday in a harsh rebuke of BPL and the Finnish technology group.

“Let me tell you something, it will be a cold day in hell before Paul Maynard allows Wärtsilä to come in here on a plant we pay $95m for and run it, sending the staff that I represent home.
