Mr. Myers- just wait! You’ll see a lot more twists, turns and u-turns in the road by our trusty government. No need to worry about hospitals filling up, the $60 “insurance fee” covers Med evac according to some. And, on our Family Islands, where does a person go when he tests positive after 5 days and has to get a PCR test and then wait 3-4 days for those results?

On COVID testing: '11th hour' u-turn blasted

So, let’s see- you have to check in daily online? What if you don’t have internet? What if you go for your 5 day Covid test to the family island airport and test positive? Do they hold you there until you pay $25,000 for private evac? Do they let you go back to get your stuff? Does the health insurance cover that? I don’t know who in our government dreams up these schemes. Is it any wonder resorts don’t open? Or that tourists don’t come? Or there will be a new set of complicated rules? I’m totally baffled by this hodge podge!

American Airlines can’t figure out a way to do this in just Miami yet our government is planning on taking it nationwide in 2 days? Really???

lovingbahamas says...

American Airlines just announced cancellation of pre boarding Covid tests as the system to do it was too complex. And we think our government can handle this at all airports?

Glad the brain trust at WSC figured out what to do on Abaco. Let’s see, that only took 14 months. And, don’t let them kid you water is flowing in the Abacos-trickling is a better description!

Maybe they can use some of the 3 million rapid tests they are saving for tourists to help our country get over this. They are donated after all.

Well, look at the bright side- we squeezed past Slovakia and Honduras or we would be in last place in the world! And, they think tourists are going to want to come here??

This is absurd! The comment that WSC does not have the money to pay SUEZ on a contract that our government negotiated, apparently numerous times, tells you how our government has gone to pot. What about when our poor souls tell WSC or BPL they don’t have enough money? CLICK! No one cares-you are cut off-and then maybe a re-connection fee. The government just has to go to Supreme Court to get it turned on. Where do we Bahamians go? What happened to all the money that the Eleuthera people paid? Probably being used to keep water on in Nassau. Why would anyone trust our government? They don’t pay their bills. How do we know airplane maintenance is being done? It’s a slippery slope!

So, let me get this straight? They just now came up with 3,000,000 tests? Where were these tests when we needed to be saved from Covid. Everyone has been saying for the last 6 months we need more testing. And now, miraculously 3,000,000 “not for profit” tests show up? Are these “not for profit” tests going to be free? A friend was just charged $200 for a test in Freeport. Let’s see- 3,000,000 x $200= 600,000,000. There is a lot of room for some graft in there. Wouldn’t we all like to see a factual cost of what they are going to charge the tourists for the shots AND health insurance? We are 3 days away from opening up-supposedly. And maybe someone could explain the logic of PCR test required before entry but rapid test after entry? Baffling!
