Seriously? This would actually be comical if it wasn’t so sad. Did he mention most of Abaco was wiped out? There is probably a 15% drop right there. The police don’t even respond to thievery and looting in Treasure Cay. There wasn’t even a phone number for police for 10 months. So, how could you have reported a crime? This guy is going to need surgery on his arm for reaching around to pat himself so hard on the back. A disgrace to the police force. And no one is going to believe him again. Should probably go into car sales.
Any weekend jaunts are over if the Bahamas is not providing Covid tests to visitors for free so they can go home. Bye bye tourism and Biden is going to tighten the noose!
Let’s see-in 2010 there were 17,000 people in Abaco. So, after 15 months, the masters at the monopoly BPL have managed to connect a whopping 23%! Wow! Just keep patting yourself on the back while people are struggling to get power. And, even though BPL can’t keep its power on line, they are forcing the people in Abaco to spend thousands of dollars each to do stupid things like raise the meter to 65 “. You say you’re at 60? No good. Spend a thousand to raise it 5”! The people of Abaco deserve better! What a joke!
Gee-only 13 years to solve this case. Is there any wonder no one wants to fly into the Bahamas?? Is an airline supposed to post guards around each plane? Get a couple of guys from BPL-they can smoke weed and drink at night while watching the planes.
They'd rather spend $65 million on an airport in Exuma then pass the extension. How about taking the money for the airports and just have a hurricane plan and better infrastructure. Or, just take the $20 million for the sidewalks. Absolutely crazy!!
So, 165 million for airport "upgrades' while we have people struggling to make ends meet. Really? Look at what happened to Abaco after Dorian. There is no hurricane redevelopment plan. It has taken a year to get some-and I underline some- water and electricity to Abaco. Wouldn't it be better to take that money and create an infrastructure to help our people cope with what may be an annual event? And, get reliable water and electricty to every place in the Bahamas. We just had another power outage in Nassau.
I thought our trusty Minister of Tourism said there would be a “small fine” if you missed the 5 day test $1,000 must be a pittance in his book. These new rules are going to be an absolute disaster. If American Airlines can’t figure out how to do this at Miami Airport, I am sure our trusty government, that failed the Abacos after Dorian, doesn’t have a chance. I predict we’ll see more changes before Nov 14. And cruise ships? Maybe Feb or March.

On Abaco they refer to it as the Chinese port, not the North Abaco port. I wonder if the Exuma airport will be the Chinese Airport?
