The white captain who shot multiple shots at the RBPF and RBDF in Abaco recently was never shot at and his boat was not riddled up with gun bullets in fact he had hundreds of illegal bullet in his possession, this white captain was handled with love and understanding but our black brothers and sisters are handled with contempt, one gun found but three dead, what! did they all pull the trigger of one gun?
The Bahamas COVID-19 pandemic is all but gone away, that means that at this stage we can only be newly infected by persons coming in from somewhere abroad, the USA continues to see new cases in the 1000's daily. If our borders are opened up on July 1st and tourists are allowed to enter without testing negative before entering the country and they are allowed to bring in COVID-19 to infect us all, all over again, then all parties responsible for such an act allowing entry should be punished for treason.
History of Columbus can and will always be a part the Bahamas no doubt, that being said his statue doesn't need to be there to represent his history, furthermore, I doubt our school children are taught of his cruelty and hatred for first the indigenous people he met here and then the black people they brought here, my guess is all these school children properly knows or has learned of him is the lie he discovered the Bahamas. his statue needs to come down.
I hope the ratio of workers kept working at the Hilton is still 70% Bahamian and 30% foreigners, but knowing our elected officials and particularly our Labor Minister and his department they won't be checking and don't care. Bahamian citizens should be First in line for all available work and after the process is exhausted then and only then should Foreigners be allowed to apply.
So, Dr. Sands, you had 9 months to deal and question these things but you didn't you were silent, now you playing like you concern? To me, this concern is fake and so are you.
This is also a time that the community, family members and people who recognize these robbers need to step forward and point them out to the RBPF, then and only then would these thugs and persons like them understand that they won't have anywhere to hide and continue to wreak havoc on the rest of the community.
The national exams were scheduled to begin on April 15th, COVID-19 caused the closing of schools around the second or third week of March, by the time school closed the students who were supposed to be taking exams should have already been prepared and just reviewing. If they were not prepared two or three weeks before April 15th then they will never be prepared and ready, the students knew, the parents knew that they will have to take the national exam when the virus simmers down or go away, they say they ain't ready now, so the question is when will they be ready?
Boy Oh boy I wonder what and how this person is going to react or do when it becomes evident that a Competent Authority is no longer needed and this drunken do this, can't do this, chase your tail mentality for no reasonable and apparent reason is no longer needed, please Lord help us the Bahamian people get to this point, right now Hitler would be seen as a junior when compared our now competent authority. Nassau I guess we will have to wait until we see foreigners (tourists) swimming and enjoying our beaches before we can.
