Sadly Cooper is just another short sighted politician who gets in power and loses creativity in thinking.

Like themessenger said, you don't spend millions on infrastructure with nobody there.

The wise thing for the government to do would be to look at 2 islands over a two year period and make it their focus to develop them. Then go to another 2 and so on until the major islands are fully developed.

Put UB in Andros. The Defense Force base in Inagua. Farming in Mayaguana.

These old tired speeches of one government opening up what another one built and you criticize the former government is tired. Get some vision.

You seriously living in make believe world. But your view is exactly wjat is wrong with the Bahamas and why the civil service has been the way it has been since the days of Pindling.

But your beholden blindness to party would not allow you to see sense.

No one but Michale Darville is making Michael Darville look like as you say "A Chuckle Head idiot!" He is a member of Cabinet so he should know about the approval.

Besides, no one from the OPM has come out an said the Carnival did not get approval from the PM.

You are correct, education is key. True. Yet, are we willing to move from the status quo of just teaching children to take a test and move them to actually educating and having them think for themselves?

So let me get this right. Th plan is to treat people like criminals hoping it would shock them not to be criminals?

The principal who the movie Lean On Me was made around made the salient point when trying to turn his school around. If you treat children like animals then they will act like animals.

Maybe if we treat young men like men and maybe if we develop a program for them where during the summers as a start they can be gainfully employed by companies. Having a job and then being mentored, that could lead to changing them.

Exposing them to the criminal world and hoping they change? WOW.

Mitchell has serious amnesia. He forgot that it was his party that made the referendum into a political matter rather than whats best for the country.

However, what I want to know is how being a republic deepens democracy? All we will do is trade one master for another, but it does not deepen democracy.

Am I to gather from the letter writer that Pintard should have gone on stage with his supporters only? Doing that would have clearly showed he was not a leader willing to unite the party.

Real leaders do not surround themselves with only yes people who support them. They have people around as well who do not support, as that only sharpens them and makes them better. The fact that in the letter writes view Pintard has people on the stage with him who either want him his job on another person to have it is a sign of maturity and leadership and a willingness to work with all and not a select few. If he only had his supporters it would have showed him as a leader no different than Minnis or Davis.

When the US President leaves the country does he name someone else as acting President? Is there really such a thing as an acting PM? Guess the operative word is acting. It is a pretend game

You are spot on.

It is amazing how this regressive tax affects the poor, and governments then seek to use the pittance they give in social services as a hand out and not a hand up.

Florida next door while they do not have VAT still have taxes. Yet, they allow groceries to be tax free. This ludicrous argument that exempting some things will not help is ridiculous.

So Bowe need to stop as businesses don't pay VAT, it is the customers.

Wow. You can't make this stuff up

How many Bahamians you know waiting to run out and buy a car. Do you know how many people in this country don't have money to turn light for their homes or water? How many don't have money to rebuild from Hurricane Matthew in 2016, not talking about Dorian?

Don't know which Bahamas you are living in
