You really expected something different from the people who introduced this regressive VAT? Old heads don't have new ideas

moncurcool says...

That sadly is what people in our country like. We put the same recycled people in position over and repeatedly and expect different results. You will never get NEW thinking from the same OLD heads.

We need a new generation of leaders not tainted with fresh ideas and a willingness to go against the status quo.

moncurcool says...

What cause and effect are they looking at? And what hole in the national debt is being plugged?
You and Davis must be have the same pie in the sky dream

moncurcool says...

Only people who like to go into debt spend more if VAT is reduce. Smart people learn to save that extra and build wealth.

What Davis is proposing is only going to hurt the poor and wipe out more of the middle class. IF you think reducing VAT to 10% (for one year) and zero out all the others items will help the majority of people, you are dreaming.

I thought you said we should not judge people by outward appearance?

As you said that is the United States. We can't compare apples with oranges.

Unfortunately that is not the case in the Bahamas. The government retires you at 63 in some instances and 65 in others. Oh, that is unless you can be past the retirement age and never done anything, but yet be seating in the seat to run a country.

Furthermore, when it comes to leadership, past performance is a guarantee of future performance. A person who has no past track record to show is very telling on the type of "leader" they will be when given a position.

The irony in all of this is that the government does this across the board, retiring people at 65. Yet, the prime minister of the country is beyond the retirement. Think we need to extend the retirement age to PMs as well, starting with the present one..

Agree anyone better than Brave. But the FNM needs to avoid the mistake in choosing MInnis because no one else.

Then have to choose the right one for the job. As tribanon said, and I agree, Thompson is just Minnis puppet, and that is not what is needed if the country will move forward.
