How the heck can you open your mouth to take an issues only your party is associated with and try to pull the whole country into it? Seriously?

So pray tell what did it?

Are we seriously living on an assumption that just because people in the US get vaccines they will travel? Why are we sitting back and doing nothing. What may look like a catastrophic situation for us is actually an opportunity to create new industries. It seems that we are gonna waste this storm sitting down and hoping for tourist handouts to start again.

This is the sad statement of community being lost in our country.

Name the FNMs and pull out the videos of the cozy relationship they had with Nygard like the PLP and I am sure it would be blasted all over the Tribune.

It is hard to blame people for simply reporting the facts.

*The government is in negotiations with the Hutchison Group and the Grand Bahama Port Authority to acquire ownership of the airport, which sustained severe damage during Hurricane Dorian.*

*“We believe we are in the final stages, and we hope for a turnover and resolution very shortly,” Mr Thompson said recently.*

Does Hutchinson however believe the negotiations are in the final stages?

.
.

*Despite the challenges facing Grand Bahama, Mr Thompson reported that the island is ranked 21 among the best destinations in the Caribbean to visit.*

Would really like to know the source of this information. But then again if you count the number of islands actually in the Caribbean, it does not take a genius to see where that 21 falls.

*“You’ve got a reduced passenger load and also, we’re charging for the first bag on international travel. With respect to that, that’s just extra money…It’s not a competitive disadvantage to Bahamasair, We’re charging $25 for the first bag and the next lowest as I am aware of is $35 so we’re below the market on that and that’s adding to the revenue and then we’re looking at various cost containment, cost controlled factors.”*

Sorry, you are not below the market, as Southwest airlines charges $0 for bags.

*“The salary cost though is still too high for Bahamasair. The industry average is around 24 percent. We’re around 32 percent and so we would like to get a little lower in terms of that but we don’t plan to have any mass layoffs or furloughs because that’s not productive.”*

Clearly the airline is overstaffed then.

*He also said: “What we are looking at is an early retirement programme. We had a voluntary programme prior to the pandemic that was suspended and we’re going to look at that again. Bahamasair has around 140 persons, 55 years and older, and so we will see how many of them (would take advantage of that).*

What's with the belief that people over 55 need to retire? Then as Chairman he should lead the way, cause I'm sure he is over 55. Biden is over 70. In fact studies show that people are more productive past 60.

I'm trying to figure out what expenditures did emergency orders create that have to be reported?

While I concur with you about the issue of priorities, I disagree on whose role that is.

It is not the governments job to teach people priorities. That is the role of parents.

Now governments should seek to partners with the home. However, you cannot put on government what is the role of parents.
