The audacity of the Commissioner to want people to give him credit for doing his job. Seriously? Every government pay day when you get a salary you get credit.

Agree he needs to start taking blame for when the stats go up.

I'm tried of these civil servants who have a silver spoon in their mouths.

*In spite of the reduced figures, there was a spate of killings at the end of 2020, which the police chief said could be attributed to several factors.

“These could be related to the seasonal impacts, loosening of restrictions, on lockdown and changes in police activities as more emphasis was placed on social distancing,” he said.

Responding to critics who point to COVID restrictions that kept people off the streets for long periods, the Commissioner said: “I could answer that with one word… nonsense. That’s why I provided the figures for the last ten years and if you look at those figures for the last ten years from what you’ve seen, we had a decline in crime.*

Clearly the Commissioner is speaking out of two sides of his mouth and does not even comprehend it.

HE attributes the spate of crimes at end of 2020 to loosening of lockdown restrictions. But then he says it is nonsense that the covid lockdowns had anything to do with reduction of crime.

So how can loosening the lockdown cause crime to increase, but having the lockdowns have no impact on decreasing crime?

The Commissioner sadly is very delusional if he believes the decrease is crime has nothing to do with the lockdowns.

You do know that it is the Trump administration that has put that in place right? Last time i check he is still the President. Don't try to blame Biden for something he has no part in. Let's be factual.

Davis to me is no different than the PM. Don't even bother to listen or read what he has to say as know it is just as bunch of hot air and nothing of substance. You would think a man who trying to be PM would be more innovative in thought.

A National Address is supposed to be something of substance that citizens make a priority to listen to as they realized it is critical to the advancement of the nation. At least that is my view, and I stand to be corrected. Sadly, Minnis has made National Addresses into an Address of irrelevance. While it may not be rights, I must admit that I do not waste my time any more watching or listening to so call National Addresses, that have simply become a way to avoid answering questions from the press.

Also, how could something be free, if it is already a part of the cost of your stay? Maybe I just missed something.

Agree though that the 5 day after test could help on the return. But then again, the people who go missing is no concern for the Minister of Health. Maybe now with the US protocols, the other 46% will now show up after 5 days to retest.

*"We have seven million visitors a year in a country where the population is just under 400,000. Per capita the Bahamas probably has the most successful tourism industry in the world, and we don't want that spoiled even if there's oil."*

It sickens me when people shot dodo and hope it sticks. And educated man need to go to the Mediterranean and see how their tourism makes ours look like crap. When we make statements, we need to demand these people present facts rather than just printing their non factual opinions.

Please learn from Trump that words matter. Ensure what we allow these people to say when it is printed is factual.

Sorry Tribune editor, but there is nothing bold about talking ot increase NIB payments, when the government keeps taking out the money to build things that give no return back to the fund, or giving money to people who make no contributions to the fund. the issue isn't money in, the issue is proper management of the money that goes in.

Another delusional one losing all reasoning because of where their head is stuck.

True. I wonder if there is any Minister of Education who has ever said the results are bad.

Someone needs to buck the trend and help begin to make the serious changes needed to our education system.
