It's better on December 26 and January 1 that I go on youtube and watch a previous parade, without the Eternally looooooong breaks between groups. Sorry, but a bunch of interviews and testimonials is not Junkanoo. That's a documentary.

*Speaking to reporters yesterday on the sidelines of an event in his constituency, the Speaker went further with his criticism, suggesting that Prime Minister Dr Hubert Minnis has acted like a “demigod” in the face of pushback on matters of principle that challenge the executive branch of government.*

*This should not be condoned, he said.*

*“What has happened over the years is the complete erosion of the authority and function and purpose of the legislative branch,” Mr Moultrie said. “So, we have developed situations where the leader or the Prime Minister in these jurisdictions can function like a demigod – like a person who is a maximum leader, a person who could just dictate.”*

.

.

Journalistic integrity is important. The Speaker never signaled out the Hubert Minnis specifically as a demi-god. Based on the comments in this article attributed to the Speaker, he was referencing all Prime Minister and leaders, and not a particular.

Journalistic integrity requires detailing the facts, and not seeking to project personal opinions onto what someone has not said.

I agree with the Speaker however, that Parliament has been treated by governments and that we do need an independent Legislature, just like we need and independent Judiciary. When both of these supposedly independent branches have to depend on the Executive brand for appointments and finances, can we really say they are independent? Me thinks not!

Everyone is entitled to free speech. However, everyone is not entitled to have stupidity published.

I have heard stupid things before but this takes the cake. While I support free speech, I don't support the Tribune printing garbage. Some things just do not need to be published. For someone to try and paint Trump in such a glowing light with all his race baiting, deliberate lies, division tactics and treatment of women shows clearly they have intelligent ignorance.

This garbage needs to stop. The political foolishness is crazy in this country. If Fred has an issue with what happened at the wedding then he needs to man up and go speak with the people at the wedding. or the police. Carl Bethel's son is of age and is able to speak for himself. The AG is not responsible for the actions of his son or to answer for them. Fred sorry, but you out of order.

See why the Senate needs to be abolished. It is just a waste of time.

No. They are saying they want to use oil, but just don't come and drill for it in my yard. Drill in someone else yard, but allow me to us it What kind of logic is that?

However, list for me the amount of oil spills that have been critical issues with all the oil platforms.

Have you heard any spills from Trinidad? Country just like us.

This is amazing. Spike in Bimini, and they get lockdown. Spike in Grand Bahama, they get lockdown. Spike in Exuma, restrictions. Spike in Eleuthera, restrictions. Spike in New Providence, the people allowed to still run wild. This special treatment for New Providence when the rest of the Bahamas gets treated like dirt needs to STOP. The Bahamas is more than New Providence.

For all these oil opponents who are opposed for drilling for oil in the Bahamas, show me the prof that you ride a bicycle or have an electric vehicle, and also that your home is solarized and you do not use BPL. Otherwise, you are only spewing rhetoric and do not practice what you oppose.

This out of the mouth of the woman who did not open her mouth against her own party when they fought against laws in the first ever referendum in the Bahamas in 2003 that would have helped to give women equal rights. Some people just need to stay quiet. Tired of people spewing nonsenses when they themselves are the ones who have caused the problems and lack of advancement.
