The union leader says that the public sector is the one keeping the economy afloat. Has he been in lockdown that long that his head jammed? Does he not realise it it the bloated public sector that is killing the country financially? A public sector that suppose to be working form home and you can not even get them to answer an email? There again we see another union leader trying to kill this country.
Ok, so the article says she was elected President, but does not state the length of time? Is it just for the 2 day session? Is it longer? What are the pros of being the president and what are her responsibilities?
Could someone tell me why Munroe is coming with this to the newspaper? Is he trying to influence the jury beforehand? If you going to court go. You don't need to do public relations in the paper.
I do not dispute the fact that the PM should have given some notice before closing the borders. It would have been better.
I was not home when the PM did his press conference that Sunday and was hinting at a curfew was going to go in place at 9 the next morning on movements. The minute I heard it I knew it would not be long before the borders closed. That Monday morning at 5:00 am I was at the airport seeking to get fight home. Before the week was out borders were closed. I'm not saying everyone like me, but too often we like to sit back and not be proactive and then want the government to do.
Besides, the situation in this article, the grown adult (not a child now) was in school when the borders closed, and made a choice to stay because he wanted to be close to a professor who could get him a scholarship to grad school. So his coming home now is not the responsibility of the government.
We have gotten so use in the Bahamas to believing that the government is our Saviour so everything should be free. But then when taxes go up we complained. We cannot have it both ways. Somebody has to pay for all the stuff. If I was the son I would stay put and just go to graduate school. What come back here for? Honestly, government should have charged the first group from Ft. Lauderdale, just as they were doing all along.
Please, no pane can fly into the airport in New Providence and land without permission. Don't color the facts. Keep the issues separate.
It is stupid arresting people for these things in my opinion. You don't treat your citizens like that. You warn them and let them go. Then if they persist undoing it you throw the book at them.
Only a fool believes the current PLP and its leadership have the people at heart. the same man who lied in parliament about BAMSI having insurance and it didn't? And he sees no reason to resign for his moral ineptitude and wants others too? And that's who you want to run this country? Minnis may be bad, but Davis just is not an option.
Let us stop passing misinformation. The island will be shut down for 2 weeks. As the 2 weeks goes beyond May 31, the government has to go to Parliament to get the extra days needed in June to make the 2 weeks.
Get your facts right. A person cannot fly on a plane unless they are on the manifest. There is always a cross check with the number of persons on the plane and the manifest. before a plane takes off.
The person was not on the list the consulate office gave to Bahamasair. That is totally different from not being on the manifest.
As Bahamians we need to be better and stop passing around misinformation.
