You said it right @ThisisOurs. Proper planning does not take away from setting a lockdown in place properly. His 5 pm and 7 pm and 8 pm statements late at night when everything close that in one hour you on lockdown for 48 hours time and again does nothing except create chaos. Sensible leaders say, ok here is what will happen in 48 hours. They give you time to prepare yourself. Which then give the law enforcement the right to lock up anyone on the street, as people would have had advance notice to prepare. But when you come with an announcement and then have to make all sorts of exemptions after the fact to clarify your announcement, it clearly shows lack of planning and thinking through.......

All the PM needs to do is give people advance notice. And this would go a whole lot better. He likes to quote the Bible - Proverbs 29:18 - where there is no vision (no plan) the people cast off all restraint (they go wild).

I support the lockdown, but the PM just needs to plan properly. Don't come at 5 pm when store closed and people planning to go get grocery the next day and tell them its a lockdown until Monday. That does not help. plan, plan plan and give people notice.

I must say I disagree with the Tribune on this. We cannot have it both ways. We cannot want to run and boast that we have the highest ship registry on the world, and then when those ships get in trouble we want to throw up our hands and say it's not our responsibility. If I carry a Bahamian passport, whose responsibility is it to take care of me? If we don't want the responsibility of the ships, then we need to stop having them carry our flags. All decisions have consequence. Now, we are living with the consequence or our decision as a nation.

The borders of the world are not closed. We closed our borders to the rest of the world. But our over reliance on tourism has us in this position. Hopefully the Prime Minister is genuine is asking for ideas, and hopefully he will not just stack his advisory with people who know nothing. Usually these advisory groups never seek advice form the "common" people who have more sense and better ways to solve some issues.

Maybe, it would be good for the government to have even MP have an online portal where each person in their constituency can submit ideas.

Please stop the plastic bag nonsense. People had ample time to prepare and adjust on the before it was implemented. And if yo have a problem with the bag fee charge take your own bag.

For years there were people who were telling successive governments to diversify and top relying on tourism alone. Where was James when he was Minister of State for Finance when those calls were being made? Oh, guess he was sleep.

The Bahamas is not being bullied. They are ships registered in the Bahamas. The first obligations to those ships is the place where they are registered. No one forced us to register the ships. We going after the money made the choice. We can't now seek to drop the ball and say it is not our fault.
