This whole article is full of contradictions. Concern about letting all the people go and only 13 made redundant. And then talking about forcing hand to reopen the airport when the airport is already open. Really, we need to stop printing people who just talking fool.

This clearly shows the ignorance of Davis. If he knows about donors, he would well know that donors always give and specify where they want their funding to go and you as the recipient then have the choice to determine whether you want to take it or not. A real leader would have asked how things work before opening their mouth and showing clearly their lack of understanding.

In case you are not aware, it was not until Mrs. Smith took over the coordination of the relief in Grand Bahama that people starting getting help and us in the NGO world saw action happening and the red tape cleared. So she deserves kudos for what has been done since she took over. The government should have had her running the operation from day one and not in October.

It is simple people. If you don't want to pay a plastic bag fee, then bring your own reusable bag to the store. For too long as Bahamians we like to take the easy way out and make noise over the things that are irrelevant.

You are spot on point. What people do not realise is that is NOT the responsibility of the government to find your home after a disaster. That is YOUR responsibility as a homeowner. I don't understand what all the fuss is about. Donors pledged what they wanted to give. The government cannot force a donor to give something particular. They ought to be happy that in light of the volcano eruption in the Philippines and the earthquakes in Puerto Rico and the attacks in Yemen that people even pledged to give $1 to the Bahamas.

$500 million really going to residents? Seriously? The majority of that is going to business, and not residents, and the majority of residents were not insured. But there again, people like to spew whatever comes to their mouths to try make things look better than it really is.
