The people in the courts would tell you that so and so may get arrested, but usually the police have botched their investigations which is why many go free. So don't be so quick to jump up and say the police are doing their job. Just because you arrest someone in 36 hours doesn't mean that you have the right person, which in many instances is the case. Furthermore, if a person is able to use loopholes in the law to get off, how can the court be blamed for that? That is an issue for parliament. Courts do not make laws, they only enforce them.
This is a bunch of nonsense. These pilots make way more than the average Bahamian. They have benefits on top of that, and this STUPID union leader have the audacity to say they stressed out and cannot fly. On top of that, with the government broke, these greedy union leaders making noise but only a half increment they getting. Only in the stupid government do these unions get away with this garbage. Here is a company that has never made a profit it all the time it has been in existence and yet, they want an increase. Utter nonsense. The government needs to stand up to this. I support EnoughisEnoungh. People need to stop flying Bahamasair. I stopped flying them a long time ago, and this attitude will just keep me off.
The question she needs to ask is who created the shanty towns these people are living in. They came here illegally and created the place they live without sewage and garbage by disobeying the laws of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. This women needs to go somewhere and get her head checked.
If Carl Bethel believes that Hubert Minnis is the best person to take the party to the general election, he is either delusional, conceding defeat, or wants the party to be slaughtered in the next general election so he can step in. Minnie leading the FNM reminds me of Turnquest leading the FNM. Remember what happened there? For the sake of our country, I hoe the FNM delegates do what is best and go Loretta. Anything less will have Christie looking at another 5 years easy.
While the article is relatively good on a whole, I'm disturbed by the opening two paragraphs. The fact that the writer equates a leadership challenge as not good for an organization, reminds me of the African dictators. In a democratic society, leadership challenges are expected, as no one has an entitlement to a position, as some in our country are of that view. I would be concerned when in a democratic organization where anyone is allow to run for the leadership that only one person does so. That does not speak for unity, it speaks to dictatorship.
In walking in Aly's shoes I cannot understand his comment. HE was commenting on illegal houses that were built that were being torn down. The law of the land is that if you wish to build you get a building permit and then you can build. You don't squat, breaking the law, and then expect someone to walk in your shoes. . Our Challenge is that we have allowed people to break laws in this country for so long that we seek to make excuses when people cry that they are being taken advantage of. . I concur with the editor that we need to fix the issue of relations in the Bahamas. However, if i immigrate to another country, I cannot dictate, not should I expect that country to change its laws and way of life for me. I decided to migrate so therefore I must accept the country I go to. The challenge with fixing the Bahamian Haitian issue is that too many people expect that Bahamians must adjust their ways to accept the way of Haitians. That is ludicrous. If you are in the Bahamas of any foreign decent, then one needs to acculturate themselves to the way of the Bahamas.
There is nothing shrewd about what Minnis did. It was the party who insisted on having the convention early next year after Minnis was trying to push it down further. In fact the party wanted to have the convention this year in harmony with the party's constitution. The fact that the party supported in overwhelming majority has nothing to do with Minnis shrewdness, but with the fact that the people want to get in a real leadership team and stop the bickering.
Is Mark Humes out to lunch? The country never asked for a plagiarist who already milked the college of $300,000 in severance. Is he now going to give that severance back. Talk about hand in the cookie jar. If Mark Humes is what COB has to offer then the college academic system is in trouble.
Maybe I'm just stupid. But you get a 6 month lump sum payment that you were not entitled to. By the time the next pay period comes you don't have lunch money to give. Somebody's priorities are screwed up and Mr. Pinder is just encouraging these people into being careless with their resources. Don't blame the Ministry of Works, blame your union people who do not know how to save and live within their means.
