How backward are we? In the 21st century, the government is mandating people to close their businesses on a holiday. I guess this is no longer free enterprise.
Why do we allow these politicians to parade before us with stupid remarks. No jobs have been created. All that has happened, is as always, because we allow our students to run down the schools each year, the government as they do every year, has to bring in "800" people to work to 2 weeks.
So what happens after the "two weeks". Are the jobs still there. I guess this is a part of the 10,000 jobs they are creating in the first year.
I just despise mindless stupidity on the part of our elected leaders.
First of all, in our Westminister system of government, to have a shadow cabinet you must first of all be the official opposition. We need to make sure people understand these matters and have our people educated on these things, otherwise, politicians will continually pull the wool over the eyes of the willing.
What moral authority does the Prime Minister believe he has to pursue this matter. More than 51% of the Bahamian people voted against him and his government, which means that the majority of persons were not in favour of BTC being returned to government control.
While I am disappointed by the system shutdown, I am not in favour of BTC going back into the hands of the government. That would be taking us back. What corporations with political misfits as government ministers running it is succeeding in this country. Look around the world and you will realize that private enterprise run companies a whole lot better than governments.
you are right on. When the man was in power they talked about him. He is out of power they still talk about him. Truth is, people only talk about you when you are doing something.
Amazing that we get bent out of shape over little things. The writer never stated who was the easy teacher and who was the hard teacher. If one happens to be upset over the writer details, then if means that you must consider the leader that you support in particular to be the easy teacher. However, the trivia of the writer is good. Sparks us toward critical thinking and analysis.
You are right on. Leslie Miller was right when he said black bahamians are stupid. The sad reality is that so many Bahamians are so politically tied to the political bandwagon, that even when truth hits them square in the face, they will still call it a lie. I guess to many are still in mental slavery.
Was not this the same man who when he was leader of the Opposition was crying over the place about the FNM doing stop and review? And now he comes and does the same thing? While I agree any government should be allowed to stop and review that left by another government, I cannot support people who try to use it as a political issue for others and then they are totally disingenuous in doing the same when they come to power and then widh no one to criticize them.
Let's be clear. Radio is different from government agencies. ZNS is the people's station, and people have a right to disagree with views different form the government. A new government has rights to have new chairman of corporations, ambassadors, ett. However, radio announcers is totally out of line. It means then that unless you say what the government wants you to say on the radio then you are out. That only should happen in countries that want to control free speech. When they take any the right of free speech, it will not be long before they take away all your rights and make you a slave. MLK said it best, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." It may not be you today, but it could be you tomorrow.
