Agree. Any idiot who thinks they own BTC if the government has majority ownership is the fool of the highest order. Let me buy my own shares. Then I really own the company and have a say.
Could it be that Great Britain exceeded its medal count because it hosted the Olympics and each host nation is allowed to enter competitors in every category without having to qualify for the event. Maybe it is the same reason China won the 2008 Olympics when it hosted it.
While Dion "may" be right in what he says, he is is out of order to issue a statement outside of his party leadership that goes exactly opposite what his party leader had the tenacity to say. At least Minnis was willing to see things without political glasses.
The sad reality is that many of our people do not travel to other countries in the world to see how the road networks and developments in their countries make Nassau look backwards. SO when progress comes they fight it. They prefer oppression not liberation and emancipation. They prefer familiarity to the unknown of progress.
I agree mynameis. The sad part is that the more some persons open their mouths, the more they show why they ought not be in the house of assembly. And to even say that the government is employing cheap labour? Is she saying that the government is paying less to foreign nurses than Bahamians. Was not this the woman who negotiated the contract for the nurses?
The reality is that our Bahamians nurses are finding better and greener pastures in the US. They are being recruited and they are leaving the Bahamas.
It is interesting to note that the government never closed the Met office here in Freeport. The office here was operated and paid for by the Freeport Container Port and they closed it down. Even when the government wanted to hire those persons they played the fooled because of salary.
It is amazing. I go to New York City and there is not one taxi stand that I see across the place. You need a taxi u wave flag one down and this is one of the busiest cities in the world. Come to the Bahamas, and we want to reserve space on a major downtown thoroughfare not for paying customers, but for people who believe they are entitled to something for nothing.
How do those spaces contribute to the economy of Bay Street?
Are we serious? There are so many Bahamians in our history who did much for the rights of Bahamians who do not have a bust and we are putting a bust of MLK up before them? Something is wrong with this picture.
