So where was she found? Was she with someone over 18 she should not have been with? Was she really missing? A whole lot of questions are left unanswered.
Again, this government takes the lazy way out and just decide to tax the Bahamian people, rather than deal with the excess spending, and constant use of NIB as a government slush fund for buildings that bring no return.
This country is really going down. Typical of what happens when the worst minds with no clue of leadership end up in politics and run the country.
Our Central bank is stupid. This is the same bank years back that had a Governor who said reducing he interest rate would not help alleviate things for Bahamian families.
Same Bank with a governor who says eliminating the penny won't make a difference to people's pockets. Now have this round up round down stupidity where people getting the short end of the stick.
Same Bank that in bed with the clearing banks and could care less how people are getting ripped off in fees for services that are subpar.
Same Bank that if you want to send money out of the country takes you through the ringer to do it. (So you have to do it undercover without their authorization)
Same Bank that won't allow average Bahamians to invest their money outside this country without carrying you through the ringer (So you have to do it undercover without their authorization)
Same Bank now with the stupid idea to eliminate checks. Really? Why not like suggested just digitize checks. Want to push to a digital system and takes an eternity to do any banking transactions in this country
The Central Bank and the people who run it and just plain clueless.
While I agree with the letter writer that education should be accessible to all, I fault the writer for criticizing the private schools to the exclusion of the entire education system, and especially the public system. It is the government of the Bahamas who should ensure there is a proper education system for all.
Our education system is garbage, and the MOE has no glue. If the system that has all the taxpayers money given to them cannot get the education right, how does one expect private institutions that only partially receives government funding to do even more?
The last thing that Freeport needs is the government having more say. Show me what development the government has done outside of New Providence to significantly improve any Family Island? The government can't even improve East End and West End in Grand Bahama. That right there tells you what Freeport will become if the government gets more say.
When will governments learn their role is not to run business but to create a proper business environment or businesses to thrive without being taxed to death?

An irate parent that > entered the school campus yesterday > and (came) to the principal’s office > and attempted to attack a teacher. This statement right here by the head of BUT and an educator is a great example of why our education system is in trouble.
Imagine a child writing as essay like this that say the parent attacked the teacher and then in the next sentence says the parent allegedly attacked the teacher.
Just plain unbelievable a person who suppose to be leading a teachers union speaks like that.

What the report does not consider is that many Bahamians choose to go out of country for tertiary education, rather than go to inept UB.
