there are various paths in the law for permanent residency, but, it takes literally years for the applications to be processed, and, in the meantime employees, employers and even spouses of bahamians must bear the yearly cost of renewals and permits.
only the big guns offer online billing, and often the system is down or incompatible with my computer, i make it my business to call, check online if possible, or actually drive there to see my balance.
I also have monthly bills from 4 different companies that do not send bills online, I call and get the balance. Of these 4 , a vendor hand delivers the bill to make sure she gets paid on time.
yep, I just got my july water and sewage bill. And i dread having to receive a bank card in the mail, the bank, in fact, charges a fee if i ask to pick up my credit card from the branch..
do not forget to investigate the insurance company.
the doctors bill them 300.00, they pay out 75.00 to the doctor. the guy without insurance paid 100.
the drug companies are like that too. some tell you the drug cost 450 per month, you go to their website without insurance fill out some forms and you can have it for 90. here in the bahams the doctor arranges that for you.

tax the earnings too, in the US the lottery winners pay the highest rate.
charge a stamp tax on the gambling houses and tax the earnings to the winners at 15%.
charge a fee to transfer money to someone elses, account, like ten dollars.
