I have read this article, which is about conch poisoning, i cannot see how so many of you
inject politics into this. the crux of the matter is that Dr. Sands is saying that the washing of the
conch in or with fresh water will eliminate the bacteria that is causing the poisoning and that
patrons should insist on it or not purchase the conch. Simple as that.

I read somewhere that the vote in the House of Assembly on independence was unanimous,
which meant that Pop voted for it.So if he was against it initially,as were many other
Bahamians, of all colour i might add, then it shows his love of country, since he saw that was
the way it was going, he was prepared to go along and give it his best shot to make it work.
We must remember that Sir Milo approached him about starting a bank that would give black
Bahamians a"fairer shake" than the others big banks at the time and so Pop started
Commonwealth Bank, offering Sir Milo shares in it, which made their two families the biggest
shareholders.I do not think that Sir Milo was the only one that he could have asked to join him
but that was Pop.
A late friend from Exuma told me that his father had died, owing Pop a lot of money ,which
made his mother a "nervous wreck",because she had no way of repaying it.Pop came to the
funeral, offered his condolences and afterwards came to their house ,sat down in the living,
pulled out a handful of receipts and said",Mrs. Ferguson , you know your husband owed me a
lot of money",then after tearing them up,he again said,"Your husband is gone and so are the bills, don't let anyone come to you and say that i sent them to collect some money from you!"
He said that after consoling his mother who was still crying , Pop told her that she knew how to contact him if she needed anything, wished them well and left for Nassau.

Help me with this please. either all of you or ,myself have not read the article, but it seems to me
that he is talking about senators and other appointed officials, not elected ones. If you are appointed by any government,it is on the basis that you would support its agenda. If you do not,
then your appointment would or could be rescinded , simple as that.

This is my response to "Pastor Troy" It is so sad to see a fellow black man think like the way you
do. Firstly , if the web shops were owned by white people , you would be screaming for the
government to close them down for what they are doing to poor black Bahamians.Secondly , all
the evidence is there, showing the massive negative effect that they are having throughout the
Bahamas, but it is okay because a handful of our brothers are making good to the detriment of
countless thousands of our brothers and sisters. Thirdly, you can only drink and eat so much, but
you can gamble all day and night , at home or work, with your money for groceries, utility bills,
children's school fees, mortgage or rent, child support money, tithes, credit cards and any other
financial commitment .But then again, just like black Americans,we only complain when the
white man kills us.

I agree with DWW. Mr. Hepburn is a businessman, who owns and operate the Subway franchise.
He can do much better than that. If he was told that a week was needed for an inspector's
presence, all he had to do was wait for him to come and witness the operation and inspect the
drilling equipment and sample bottles ,etc prior to commencement of drilling and ensure proper
sealing of the bottles. Just another useless photo op.

Just like the writer said, it is a nasty twist to charge gaming patrons 5 per cent on their deposits
that is disgraceful.Mostly poor , addicted people, who already are having problems with their
finances .But that seems to be human nature, take advantage of the disadvantaged.

This is addressed to "birdiestrachan", what would be your opinion of the web shops , which are
financially decimating many island communities, have many Bahamians in worse shape than
the crack epidemic and are raking in untold millions monthly, if they were owned by white
people

The article written by Joseph Darville, once aspiring catholic priest, former principal of
Grand Bahama Catholic High School, is , putting it mildly, one of the most asinine ever
published in any newspaper. We are still shaking our heads , unbelievable!

Don't let him tell you that he is speaking for his constituents either because they are very
disappointed in him, but like Sheeprunner, said ,that is McAlpine, extremely upset that he did not get what he felt was due to him, after all he is Frederick McApine. Many of his former
members are that way because they dared to question or disagree with him; they had to find
another church.A former co-worker of mines went to Las Vegas on vacation approximately
more than a decade ago and he saw McAlpine at the airport and was shocked to see the great
reverend, who was more than thirty pounds heavier than he is now and as mentioned earlier,
more than ten years younger, just watch as his church members, young females and all,
struggle with his heavy luggage. They went there for a church convention my former co-wo
was told. By the way i went to Nassau on a flight from Freeport and Bishop Boyd and i were
retrieving our luggage at the same time. I just smiled to myself, remembering the great rev.

I am very surprised at this article, a Bahamian having a baby in the Bahamas? I thought that
most of our women went to Florida to have their babies. We are just like the Haitians!
