I really did not want to respond to another article about McAlpine, but i must. When he criticized
Prime Minister Minnis concerning his assistance to Dominica, it was his right to free speech,
when he is criticized, those who did so" have an agenda".Therein lies his mindset,which was
nurtured as a church leader, where he did all the talking, led all the singing and was in
charge of everything. It was his show, where even the Lord played second fiddle to him.He has
a mini church now because most of his members were able to see him for what he is, a
megalomaniac. I am of the belief that he spoke out because it was killing him to have to listen
to others speaking so much , while so little attention was being paid to him.

He thinks he is better than his parents as he was born here, i guess adopting the slogan" It Is
Better In The Bahamas" as they are both "southerners", his mother from Turks Island and his
father from Jamaica.

I was very disappointed when i heard that McAlpine got a nomination to run for the FNM ,
as i felt that there were many who were better qualified and paid their dues to the party.He
ran unsuccessfully for the PLP,when he was not renominated he ran as an independent
candidate and lost, then he resurfaced next as an FNM and somehow became the standard bearer for Pine Ridge. For what i have seen of him over the years , i have told all and sundry
that as a supporter of the FNM,it would have been extremely difficult for me to vote for him.
He is in the league of Fred Mitchell and Branville , when it comes to ego and is clearly upset
that especially being a M of G (Minister of the Gospel) that he is not a M of G (Minister of the
Government).

I,like many Bahamians, was disappointed when Dame Marguerite was appointed to her present
position, as it showed the country that Perry was still being controlled by Sir Lynden,albeit from
the grave.But she has grown on me and in my opinion, done an admirable job in the position
and i love her there.She is in the twilight of her years and i wish that all Bahamians,FNM like
myself included, continue to pray for her and wish her well.

I like that picture of Fred smiling,because if he had no legitimate political outlet for his
massive ego, he would be a crazy man.

Our hard working officers have been promised their money by the previous government and i think that the present one is morally bound to honour that promise.There was also the
possibility that had the PLP been reelected,they may have put in on the back burner,citing
unforeseen circumstances.There are times in life when a commitment should be honoured,
even if it hurts to do so. I believe that this is one of them.

As one who was born in Grant's Town, i get great satisfaction from the fact that Perry lost
because that area has had fifty years of continuous PLP representation, until Wednesday.

Poor Loretta, she could have been a cabinet minister again. Oh how have the mighty
(Leader of the Opposition) fallen!
