Apparently the food there now leaves something to be desired ....?
Not so smart to be prideful as the minister responsible - Just objectively do your job - without threatening our investor/ guest please! In writing and promptly only to start if needed. Publish the communications. Remember the government is all powerful ! -adding taxation and spending taxpayer money at will without asking first- such a luxury doesn't exist in the private sector nor within the households of the Bahamian worker (about to lose their jobs or not)
Again education is key... close to 50 years on and still focused on divide and conquer - how has that bitterness worked out for everyone?
Change the names of offensive holidays- an easy first little fix.
Also give women equal rights- come on its 2020 and 1/2 the population is oppressed right there- white, black, whatever- can't pass citizenship on to their children on their own!!!- can that be blamed on the colonialist lol? Sheer stupidity to discourage that half of the population off the starting line!
Connecting tourism today to colonialism is absolutely crazy stupid, and has expired- one must face the reality of the resources locally available and maximize them for the benefit of Bahamians - sustainably! #1 resource= The people.
Think what would happen if the 1) government , 2) each citizen made choices based on improving the quality of life for their fellow Bahamian- without stealing/wasting taxpayers money and time or further pushing the country into debt!
How ironic this article should be published now- people can't deny this is a racially divisive holiday - first step in the process is to rename this holiday- or keep talking without results.
Aboslute robbery! Please let us know which former BEC/ BPL executive was punished for their stupidity and teefin! Not one! Time to go off Grid - imagine a company that steals, lies, loses money, becomes disfunctional, charges nassau clients for outisland services and fuel losses, and then hey their skills include charging nassuvians additional fees for an fing loan to cover it all! Wow! Shame on you BPL and every person who stole from it. Come on Mr PM and Mr AG do something about this injustice please.
How about the Bahamas buy proper insurance to cover a $1B to $2B catastrophe type event, just like homeowners insurance required on a mortgaged home! Limit the expenditures to demographics and tax revenue- let private insurance deal with the rest. - not partial crappy coverage - given the number of hurricanes that have hit there is no doubt the policy will be utilized. ( Betsy, David, ?,?,andrew, Erin, ,Floyd ,Francis, Gene, Matthew, Joaquin,??, Dorian, just to name a few). Add it up and buy insurance! Otherwise we will always be making one step forward, upward & two steps backward, downward. Just imagine a second hit before November 15th - we are wasting our taxpayer time just paying for oversized government it seems!
Come on Bahamas! Inspect these small carriers properly please or ask the USA to help! what was the takeoff weight, duration of flight etc? What are the number of incidents for this carrier per passenger mile?
"There’s nothing pejorative at this stage,” he explained." Definition of pejorative: "expressing contempt or disapproval." REALY!?? - your position is your organization has no contempt or disapproval regarding BPL's actions or inactions?- get real. This is a national security matter, period. Lots of contempt and disapproval with the general population just not those regulating or maintaining things -
Also someone should be fired if the investigation only began 2 weeks ago and not a decade ago.
Remove uncertainty where possible by firstly putting the rental units under armed guard. You think all parties want things running smoothly? Then add more rental units by same company and start on solar plant immediately with performance contractor- the losses associated with this to society are (and could be eleven more). staggering.

Could be wrong but I believe under the last fnm government electricity reliability was at its best. In any case it doesn't matter - what matters is the actual cause, preventing it from happening again, and the long term solution.
Thank you for the update and focusing your report but if you are done then Now please:
-do have the police advise as to the cause of the fires and whether a full investigation by the police was done- every oversight and or intentional criminal act that costs money should be detailed - those plants that aren't running should be under renovation once the investigation is complete. Defense force oversight may be needed - hey what about buying insurance on every unit in operation?! Come on people!
