I noticed the same about Liberty House just this week as well. Many buildings on Bay Street and throughout town can take clues. No need to replicate that but what a little bit of paint and creativity can do. its a renovation done right. Much of Nassau has potential but it gets flushed buried each day.
I'm sorry but it would be a terrible if you had shot spotter tire slashers, you'll create more victims from crashes of innocent persons within the radius and potentially creating additional sitting ducks.
it uses triangulation so while it can calculate where it came from, it has no clue in which direction the shooter then fled . So drivers in the area all of a sudden gets thier tires punctured while the shooter flees.
Also if the shooters now know that slahsers are going to spring up they would either adjust thier plan and/or be on the lookout of these devices.
This again would cause innocent unprepared people end up getting the worst of it, not to mention obstacles for emergency vehicles.
I think your initial point is correct. shotspotter in addition with eyes on the ground and in the sky coupeld with quick analysis of vehicles and their movements would help as a tool.
"I’m not one for counting murders because one is too much" - Perhaps thats why people are concerned with the stats? If 1 is too much, 26 over two months is too too much.
If the project is so good, and it sounds like they empathize with Hoffer, then PAY Hoffer his costs. They are going to reap the benefits they should cover the costs. I understand the balance between economic growth and some pain. If so Hoffer should sue them if they are unable to agree to pay for his and other residents inconveniences.
“Right now, the hotels are seeing some fall off, but more importantly, those who are in the hotels today, they’re not coming out into the community," - Philip Davis.
the issue isnt the warnings being issued. the issue is the sheer number of killings to start the year plus the warnings plus the media coverage. sure the state dept issues warnings but no one pays attention. however when we have that coming on the heels of a spree of violence and internet and tv coverage you have a terrible portrait painted for visitors. no one wants to visit a 'paradise' and risk getting shot, no matter how unlikely it is if they perceive it to be a risk.
