First it was the Dundas center now it is the Ranfurly home struggling with finances. A properly structured National Lottery would take care of society problems like this where a portion of the proceeds would be reserved for these type of institutions, The old folks' homes and still have millions left over to reduce the national depth and other needs of the country including disaster recovery, medical services, and airport development. But no we choose to empower a few number boys who gives back pittance compared to what they take in ....Shame i say !
Concord Wilshire and its investor/developer/manager partners are in a standoff with the government over this hotel because of the Airport situation in Grand Bahama. The Government on the other hand knows that is they let this hotel close with months before a general election, they could kiss them five seats in the northern Bahamas goodbye and loose for sure. Even Stevie wonder could see whats happening over there
All signs point to this hospital project in the well field being "Stop Review and Canceled by the incoming FNM administration. Remember The Minnis Government had the money in the Bank for the Extension to the New critical care block at the PMH, the PLP cancelled that so what goes around will come around next year.
Former FNM MP Travis Robinson could forget about winning the Ft Charlotte seat. Not in his wildest dreams can he win. Sorry FNM this one in the PLP win column.
The Government needs to send this company Challenger Energy Group, the former Bahamas Petroleum Company (BPC) and its greedy shareholders a clear message that there will be no further oil drilling in the Bahamas. What do they not understand .PM Davis has been all over the world speaking as a climate change advocacy. I hope the incoming FNM government would not be weak on this issue....Tell this company in no uncertain terms to go away. The Bahamas values its pristine waters, Tourism, and carbon credits more than this fossil fuel exploitation company.
The **IMF** asked the Bahamas government to re classify the 37 million dollars spent last November to join the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean **(CAFF)** and change it to an Investment from an expenditure, that explains the 37 million deficit reduction from the 24 - 25 budget year, allowing the Government to overshoot its 2024-2025 full-year deficit target by just $9.1m thanks to last-minute revisions
