I dont think they will pay a dividend any time soon. They are now talking about buying property for a multi-storey parking lot down town. This is a closed end mutial fund
Innovation in getting people to those theatres is going to be needed for this investment to succeed. Develope packages with Baha Mar, Atlantis, Albany Sandy Port and all the hotels in Nassau to arrange daily day and evening movie packages for tourist. A bussing system is going to be crucial.
A disgrace down town truly is Mr Raine. The clean up should begin at the old law firm of the two former prime ministers which is nothing but a burnt out shell of a building with trash one feet high all along its parimeter...The many buildings east of east street is home to many corridors filled with trash that our tourist pass daily. Some of these dilapidated buildings have porches with rotten ceilings and it is only a matter of time before someone is hurt by falling debris. The old Hotel corona is another eyesore and one wonders where is the down town Nassau partnership these days with all of their supposed plans.
Birdie, its like trying to turn a large tanker around in the ocean. We have begun to turn the wheel, Buy it may take three years to turn the ship completely around baring any unforeseen catastrophe like Nine eleven or acts of god (hurricanes) which can bring a halt to the economy. Even though the National depth increased, it is not increasing at the rate your PLP was increasing it. Even though the deficit decreased it is not increasing at the rate your PLP would have done so borrowing has slowed and this ship of state we call the Bahamas is turning around. No thanks to your PLP
By signing Aggreko to provide an extra 10 MW of rental generation , the BPL cheif is simply doing what is expediant for the company. That is what he has to do when you running a company thats in crises. When will the crises end ? it will end when shell completes its new LNG plant installation. Thats a long term solution so we all have to suck up the high bills for a few more years.
Bahamians need develope an entrepreneurial mindset. The days of leeching of the government is over..Reductions are every where from the civil service to the subventions and scolarships for Doctorial students. the austerty signs are every where..
