Birdie, its like trying to turn a large tanker around in the ocean. We have begun to turn the wheel, Buy it may take three years to turn the ship completely around baring any unforeseen catastrophe like Nine eleven or acts of god (hurricanes) which can bring a halt to the economy. Even though the National depth increased, it is not increasing at the rate your PLP was increasing it. Even though the deficit decreased it is not increasing at the rate your PLP would have done so borrowing has slowed and this ship of state we call the Bahamas is turning around. No thanks to your PLP

By signing Aggreko to provide an extra 10 MW of rental generation , the BPL cheif is simply doing what is expediant for the company. That is what he has to do when you running a company thats in crises. When will the crises end ? it will end when shell completes its new LNG plant installation. Thats a long term solution so we all have to suck up the high bills for a few more years.

MR Johnson. now that the wind fall in vat revenue has began. Stick to the financial minister promise of beginning to reduce customs duty's in the next budget cycle before joining the wto. **start with the 65% duty on imported automobiles** That rate is one of the highest in the world.

Scientists have identified 15 technologies — from wind, solar, hydro and nuclear energy to conservation techniques — that are ripe for large-scale use and showed that each could solve a significant portion of the problem. Their analysis, indicates that many combinations of these 15 technologies could prevent global emissions of greenhouse gasses from rising for the next five decades. All it takes is for the IPCC to be given teeth with enforcement of new climate change legislation.for all countries, especially the two biggest causes of climate change in the world the USA and China.. Sadly with world leaders like Trump in the white house, bowing to special fossell fuel interest the inevitable rollback is being postponed.

i share your concerns and i would like to add that the Shirley Street post office where i go weekly is in a deplorable state with garbage piles shrewn all over the front lawn where you go up the steps to go inside. This has been the state for weeks and i have pointed it out to the workers inside. Their answers are always the gov this, the gov that ...but what about self pride. The staff there should put on gloves and do a five min trash pickup once a week. until they get a handy man. No harm to them.
