So dumbing down the test with all the plane crashes in the Bahamas?
Haven’t the lessons of each successive education ministry’s hand in doing the same for their expectations of student scores, or heaven forbid the amount of failures amongst those same students when they attempt any post secondary learning brought any angst or learning among ‘educated officials’??

The case was not withdrawn, it was dismissed because Burke Energy had the stronger case. They signed an agreement with Burke two years ago to pay a forfeiture fee of $1M if they acted in bad faith which they did.
Not only did the gov’t unilaterally change the parameters of the scope and design of the project they intended Burke to carry all the upfront costs and fund the project 100%!

Furthermore they gave Burke an impossible ultimatum, come with a plan to enable their would be 40-50% Bahamian partners to invest to offset Burke’s coming investment and income losses of 100% after three years of operations!
Burke knew no Bahamians would do so knowing their gov’t would just hand everything to them on a silver platter.

Worse Christina Alston despite being the OPM’s director of Energy and Sustainability Initiatives attempted to get Burke’s CEO Gregory Galman to build out minus standard construction codes governing wind and hurricane building codes!
Reducing the operating manpower by 25%!

Did Alston successfully persuade those who ‘won’ the bids for Exuma to cut costs with shoddy construction? For Eleuthera?

How many other projects have/are being built to Davis&Co’s corrupt standards?
No wonder the ‘hurricane shelter’ in the Abacos lost it’s roof!!

So now any expectations that Shanta Knowles is a change agent are put to rest

Bahamians still expect a proper independent investigation into the corruption in the RBPF that led to these "bank car killings" etc etc. because this slap dab whitewash isn't hiding a thing.

These are the acts of a police state in which violent reprisals enforce censorship, control and obedience.

Dr Sands is saying Bahamians make food choices from that which they can afford.
Fruits and vegetables are not affordable choices for most folks.

Critics & cynics will attack this as America first thinking…dismissive of lands beyond their shores..” And Harper believes this isn’t necessarily so?

If one couples these remarks with the immediate “pause” for all US foreign aid round the world of 180 days to God knows when, wouldn’t one be hard pressed not to make the case of this as an ‘America First’ policy?

I’ll also wager that given the fact that US State and DOJ has been running a secret underground investigation into the corrupt ties between Bahamian gov’t officials with human and drug traffickers throughout the Caribbean and beyond, that increased funds for cooperative marine policing is a definite no go.

Who in this country would provide “sponsorships” for travel expenses on this government’s dime? Nobody.

And nine people staying in DC for the inauguration wkd when the average cost per night was $750 amounted to only $20k?
Caribbean Math.

So now this Wilson wants Bahamians to be believe he could be a sage resource to address the housing crisis?
That regulatory laws and their institutions are hamstringing developers like his father’s companies from easing our housing crisis??

When has any law or regulatory body ever prevented this corrupt unrepentant enterprise from making money off the backs of Bahamians? Especially when like minded criminal politicians hold public office?!

Davis&Co have raised fees/taxes on absolutely everything, air passengers pay more in taxes now than for their actual airfare.
The new fee per cruiser of $5 on 5.6M passengers for 2024 (up from 4.6M in 2023),
accounted for $28M in new revenue. This is just one fee of increases on hundreds!
So where is all this new revenue going?

Every year since the PLP won in 2021 revenue hasn’t matched the hype of increased visitor numbers and/or streams of new monies generated, new programs, improved ‘Acts’ remain unfunded, supposedly in committee, ’in discussion’ etc.
The deficit increases the borrowing increases yet we have no pandemic, no Dorian.
So where’s all this money collected going?
It’s not going into new hyped programs to improve our quality of life because most remain unfunded and/or non existent.

And why are folks disgruntled with the IMF instead of taking their ire out on these corrupt politicians they insist on re-electing but refuse to hold accountable for bleeding this country dry?
It seems now so much money is being funneled away from where it was intended that the IMF is advising the Bahamas to enact at least a 10% tax just to make up the difference!
You can’t make this stuff up, but apparently you can get away with it.
