There’s been a different story every six months from these guys about this subject, I do remember the announcement that several of these houses were being built and/or acquired throughout Nassau but we couldn’t know whether they actually existed for security reasons.

Yet again another announcement that makes absolutely no sense to any woman or child facing a daily threat of violence in her home, nor should it make sense to accept these lies from Davis & Co.

My Father recently retired as a barrister in Ontario was dining with me at Dune in 2008 when Mitchell swept in surrounded by his entourage.
After they were seated and feted Dad leaned over and dryly asked me that guy thought he was the King of The Bahamas.
I laughed and replied ‘well he lost his seat in the last election, but he’s still the Queen!”

When the gov’t says it wants to strike a balance between visitor safety and the ‘operators ability to earn a living’, to which are they referring?
The money they earn from their jet-skis for hire, or their drug dealing??

Using this ‘is still a fact finding’ venture and ‘this is a work in progress’ are nonsensical, they’ve been using these ridiculous excuses for decades.

Why do we need to drill down to a code of conduct knowing that these only provide barristers with another legal skewer?
Laws are in place so use them, police the beaches and operators.

Who needs to be told hey selling dope is illegal?
Who needs to be told, Hey don’t drive your jet-ski and smoke weed!
Hey don’t drive your jet-ski at full speed right into the path of someone walking, sitting w/their kids, or swimming at the beach?
If someone doesn’t know any of the above is dangerous and criminal, they have no business operating any vehicle anywhere.

Oh please, get over yourself!! You’re blowing so much hot air your brain is starved for oxegyn!

The video evidence showed the two men leading the girls away, the main witness was a US nurse who discovered the women disheveled and incoherent on the floor of the bathroom didn’t know them but recognized their state and symptoms as being drugged and assaulted.
This isn’t a race thing (again??), but a testament to the why the warning was issued in the first place, the RBPF are not interested in furthering complaints of rape, assault, whatever, from women especially tourists.
The womens’ account rings exactly as the others gone before them, they were lied to about no help from the US Embassy, the offer of being tested with rape kits came with implications that made them believe they’re situation was no better in the hands of these officers.

In fact they and the nurse helping them were so disgusted with the attitude of the police they wouldn’t even allow them to drive them back to their ship!!
Now that really says something!

And of course we now know that since the Bahamas has no facility for testing of such kits and there is an expense involved, the kits are never tested at any US facility either.
So the rape of any woman does not merit a proper investigation by the RBPF, no wonder the crime of rape is so prevalent here!!

Davis & Co’s insistence on retaining “a bond” and Dr Kovats’ consistent refusals smacks of payola, as does the increasing amount demanded from $5M now to $20M
When Davis was last in power the same scenarios played out with all properties Kovats sought to develop.

I don’t know the man, but I do know that the FNM approved this project and coming on the heels of Dorian this would have been a godsend to the working men and women of the Abacos.
When tourists started to return in force after Covid, this project’s restaurants, marina whatever could have been open for business or at least on the cusp.

I know folks were upset over the scope of Kovats first plan but that could have been downsized as he’d done for concerned folks near Albany.
Now people are fawning over this saviour!
And he’s not even produced one rendering, one inkling of his plans.

Davis & Co have proven their interest begins and ends with ‘what’s in it for me?’
Why would Bahamians trust this current gang of thieves offering another pig in a poke?

The US has more guns than citizens proving that arming everyone is no deterrence to crime.
The government has to clamp down on the corruption in this country that feeds and maintains the illicit drug and firearm industries and if this sounds like an oxymoron it is because the current government is so corrupt!
I recall in the waning months years of the last PLP government the crime & corruption rate was so bad they got drummed out of office.

Davis & Co are going bigger and bolder!
And with the Bahamas already pegged as a centre for money laundering and financial schemes it would be interesting how Davis thinks he can actually keep his already overloaded boat a-floating!

Botswana is just one of the countries red flagged for allowing the use of dollars and diamonds in money laundering schemes.
And the countries that watch these activities are especially interested in those that fund terrorist organizations.

So one of the two suspect who raped the women didn’t think “it would end up to this”??

He made a bad choice and was identified at the scene, what did he expect?
And the other-who’s keeping his name out of the papers, the police on behalf of his politically connected family and because this isn’t his first time being charged with assault/rape?

And the police didn’t recognize the “gravity of the situation” until they were informed that their per usual lying and stonewalling of any attempts by foreign crime victims to swear out complaints was exactly why the US government had issued the crime warning.
They were told to hop to it but the damage was done.
Clowns!

When Davis & Co got into power they axed the policies and project of the Minnis government, no matter the schedule of completion, the monies invested and worse without regard to the benefits of those they’d ‘pledged’ to serve- their fellow citizens.

At first I thought that like Trump when he obliterated anything and everything that Obama’s administration had accomplished that Davis might be out for the same vengeful spite

By the time Davis & Co axed this deal, the low housing projects well underway (and all those hopeful souls who’d been approved for homes?). it was clear this was just about the money-that would line their pockets and of course the power.

Christie & Davis et al showed Bahamian citizens what they were about the last time they held the reins of power.
What’s that old saying about the snake?
