“This is not unusual during the first weeks of school”??? Since when? And how does the Minister intend to perform this miraculous transformation, ie. teaching a 2nd language in 3 weeks?
One is stunned by the sheer preposterousness of her problem solving skills; farm these illiterates out to those Family Islands who’ve never had Special Ed instructors. They should just count themselves lucky to be so privileged, and be as silent as these teachers who cannot communicate with their developmentally challenged charges.
Who would give the stewardship of half a trillion dollars to a bunch of corrupt Bahamians? Only the same sort as they: money launders, con men and hucksters.
So again one must ask why has the Ministry waited until now to start “upping their game”, fogging the Family Islands, conducting interviews, etc. after 88 cases have presented (and one must presume many more exist) and the death of child who might have been a candidate for the vaccine?
If the MOE is not able to attend to the needs of the students in their care then it needs to be examined by an outside entity and given the tools for greater efficiency. However to say that our teachers are not public servants is to do them an injustice, treat them disrespectfully and seems also to remove them and the MOE from accountability.
If you claim an excellent memory, you must therefore be studiously ignoring the facts of Dr Sand’s’ admonitions, not all cases of the past infections are known by the patient/caregiver to have been Dengue, ie. the reason for the lab tests.
More importantly how can one blithely assume that any of those unknowns must stem from the last endemic in 2011?
Your reference of Covid in the Bahamas reminds us that egoists like yourself spreading disinformation caused the deaths and/or reduced the quality of life for many Bahamians.
Your assumption that all operators “are not involved in illegal activity” is not supported by the facts, ie. the experience of Bahamians and tourists.
And isn’t a bully one who preys on the weak, the naive, and yet you use this term to describe those who regularly act outside the law with impunity? For we all know that the law is one thing in the Bahamas, but acting upon it? There’s the rub.
Corruption like all else breeds in favourable environments. The Washington Post had an apt quote about the highly inaccurate reassurance we always get from officials, and politicians etc., “it’s not just about a few bad apples. It’s about a diseased tree”
By fashioning your scorn without the key phrase included in the above article (and two times no less!) you’ve exposed yourself as the worst kind of purveyor of disinformation, ie. those who cause direct harm to the lives of our children.
