St Martin and St Thomas attract far less cruise visitors but they’ve always spent more money and without the kitschy ‘attractions’ proposed by Mr Maura and this government.
Nassau has always had issues attracting the sort of visitor intent on spending money here, willing to leave their ship to wade through our chock o block streets.
No number of gaudily clad dancers or steel drum bands can overcome the reports and perception of crime here, on one popular site we’re at level 78 vs St Martin at #28.
None of this is news, so why are we willing to let this government ignore an issue that sacrifices our quality of life? Our ability to capitalize on the benefits tourism can bring?
Municipal and county governments in other developed countries usually require measures to protect motorists when leaving a site for the day. This usually involves the use of 1” steel plates extending at least 12” from the edge of the excavation, reflective 4” tape on it’s edges, and a reflective sign warning of plates ahead. Likely there’s a law on the books here too, but we all know there’s neither the will to obey or enforce such laws.
Why is this government always aiming, blaming, waiting, (lying) and asking for handouts from other countries instead of doing the job for which they were elected to fulfil?? If only the people who elected these jokers would demand responsible governance…?!
Davis says they’ve ensured developers do not compromise our environmental integrity? Good grief it sure would be interesting to know when idea of integrity, environmental or of any persuasion struck this government!
The government seems desperate, ‘Azul Destinations’ was just incorporated last year, June 1 2022 to be exact, and is located within the office of United Security & Alarms in a low-rise office park in Sunrise Fl. And they’re looking for $250M?
