There is no data/evidence to back up your claims. There have been huge spikes on for example some of the family islands that were supposedly restricted to outsiders and/or tourists. Simply put the Bahamas needs to up its rate of vaccinations to stop serious complications and it’s mortality. Also studies prove there is no such thing as a ‘natural bubble’, or ‘natural immunity’ from a previous infection, once the vaccine and/or antibodies one wear off one can be reinfected by the same strain. No one can believe the numbers coming from the MOH as they do not include any deaths and cases diagnosed with gov’t issued or any kind of rapid tests.
None of these cases will be added to the ‘official’ numbers of Covid infections as per policy in MOH. Has the MOH ever participated in classroom info sessions about the vaccines, tying these to their lessons on science? Have they ever set up vaccination opportunities at the schools?
Given the protracted work done on the AC units reported in numerous reports, it would seem that Sandals mgt should have acted sooner. And the sole survivor of two villas affected should have been taken to DH. A real black eye for them and the Bahamas.
The American papers reported the RBPF’s investigation is awaiting autopsy results, good luck with that. As for Darville saying he doesn’t believe it’s Covid related, really, based on what? Omicron is difficult to diagnose with the gov’t’s quickie tests and of course the PCR tests…?
He said he “didn’t want to preempt the investigation”, when old pols like Laroda pontificate spewing misinformation they expect to be taken as gospel they’re showing naught but contempt for all citizens of the Bahamas.
Any charity that can keep its admin costs below 10% should be lauded for their diligent efforts. Whereas using one’s political position to tease out unsubstantiated info from ongoing investigations only serves to taint that very process. And well there is another accomplishment, he’s cheapened the position of the PM so much so one could confuse him with that of a braying ass.
There is only one plan which should be very clear by now, denounce with disinformation, reverse any gains by taking over the positions, committees and funnel all to their family and friends program. Does anyone honestly believe these trough liners would have fed the hungry of these islands the past two years?
The history of the cruise lines action/inaction coupled with that of the government of the Bahamas has been one of greed and complacency. We’re nothing more than dumping grounds, and the overeagerness of our corrupt officials as they line up at this trough an embarrassment that dogs every attempt to turn the tide of the disaster we’ve created. Every new ‘Act’, committee, and department have proven to be just a means to mire any good faith efforts by kicking every issue down an endless road of bureaucracy and made instantly redundant by refusing to grant any of these waystations the teeth, the power to fulfill their so called mission. We continue to kill our golden goose and we allow our egos to be stroked by those who blame everyone but ourselves.
